About Tulgeen Disability Services

Founded in 1977, Tulgeen Disability Services has been a cornerstone of support in the Bega community for over four decades. Our mission is to empower individuals with disabilities to live, work, play, and grow, ensuring they have the tools and opportunities to realise their full potential. Our services include:

- Supported Employment: Providing meaningful job opportunities for individuals with disabilities, fostering independence and skill development.
- Accommodation Services: Offering a range of housing options, including supported living and respite care, to ensure a safe, comfortable, and inclusive environment.
- Community Participation: Encouraging social engagement through activities, programs, and events that promote interaction and personal growth.
- Education & Training: Offering accredited programs and courses to develop skills and boost employment prospects.
- Recreation & Leisure: Organising fun and stimulating activities that cater to a variety of interests, helping individuals to enjoy life to the fullest. 🎉 We’re proud to celebrate the official opening of Tulgeen’s SHINE Day Program in Eden! 🎉

On Thursday 16 April, we welcomed the community to our new SHINE facility at 3 Crown Lane, marking an exciting milestone for disability supports in Eden and the wider Bega Valley.

More than 60 people joined us on a beautiful sunny day, including Mayor Russell Fitzpatrick, Dr Michael Holland MP, Kristy McBain MP and Uncle BJ Cruse, who each shared meaningful reflections on the importance of this new service for the region.

It was wonderful to see local service providers, businesses, families and community members come together to show their support.

🙌🙌Bendigo Community Bank Pambula and Bega have been fortunate enough to partner with Tulgeen Disability Services to assist them with replacing their bus. Hear from Karen on how this has helped!

“The purchase of the new bus enables is to take inclusive groups into the community, including participants who use wheelchairs. We now have access to a filly wheelchair-accessible vehicle, allowing us to provide safe and reliable transport for all participants.”

Tulgeen has now taken over the former site in Eden, and we’d love to give back by donating a range of toys and furniture

Tulgeen Disability Services is expanding our supports to Eden and surrounding Communities to ensure local families continue to receive the connection and essential services they rely on.
Following the closure of Playability, many community members were left without vital disability supports. Tulgeen is stepping up to help fill this gap by delivering reliable, person‑centred services for people with disability and their families.
Our commitment is to provide continuity, inclusion, and high‑quality supports that strengthen wellbeing and community connection.
Tulgeen looks forward to working alongside Eden families as we build a responsive and sustainable service for the region.
