Sapphire Coast Medical Practice SCMP is a traditional Family Medical Practice with two surgeries operating in the Bega Valley. All staff provide all health care in a non-judgmental way.

Sapphire Coast Medical Practice is a traditional Family Medical Practice with a varied demographic of all ages, socioeconomic status and cultures. We aim to provide complete family health care in a friendly, efficient, professional and confidential environment. All Medical, Nursing and Reception Staff and trainees strive to maintain this through their work at all times. This Practice does not discriminate against or disadvantage patients in any aspect of access, examination or treatment. All Doctors in our Practice strive to help our patients manage their own health problems with prevention, education, general advice and specific clinical care. We respect confidentiality at all times and understand our patient's rights to accept our advice and treatment, or not act on this advice. Our Practice has been fully accredited by Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL).

Saturday 27th December - TATHRA SURGERY ONLY - OPEN from 9am to 12pm

Tuesday, 30th December – OPEN from 9am to 5pm
Wednesday, 31st December – OPEN from 9am to 4pm (TATHRA), 9am to 3pm (BEGA)
Thursday, 1st January – CLOSED
Friday, 2nd January – OPEN from 9am to 5pm.

Just a reminder to all our patients that both our Bega and Tathra Surgeries will be closed from 9am till 11am today, Wednesday 12th November due to an NBN outage at the premises. If you experience an emergency during this time please call 000. We appreciate your understanding!

SCMP has been notified of a planned NBN outage on the morning of Wednesday 12th November 2025. This outage will affect the operability of both our Bega and Tathra Surgeries and no internet or phones will be available during this time. Both sites will therefore be temporarily closed from 9am until 11am.

If you experience an emergency during this time please call 000. Phone advice is also available from Health Direct on 1800 022 222. Alternatively, visit the emergency department at South East Regional Hospital, Bega, or call them on (02) 6491 9999.

EDIT: Power is back on! Surgery will open as normal from 9am - phew!

Unfortunately there is an unplanned power outage in Tathra this morning. The Tathra Surgery will be operating with limited capacity and some appointments will need to be cancelled. We apologise for any inconvenience and will let everyone know as soon as we're back up and running!

SCMP's Bega and Tathra Surgeries continue to hold Influenza/COVID Booster Vaccination Clinics on Saturdays during May 2024. Our next clinic is in Bega on Saturday 11th May, and the following clinic is in Tathra on Saturday 18th May.

We will also be holding a COVID Booster Vaccination Clinic on Saturday 29th June in Bega for those patients who had their boosters ~6 months ago.
