We are super excited to welcome a new Remedial Massage Therapist, Jacob, to the Botanic Health Services Team.

Jacob brings with him an extensive amount of experience specialising in deep tissue and sports massage.

With an extended amount of time competing in martial arts and working with the SANFL/AFL, Jacob has a deep understanding of the body mechanics and the unique needs of athletes and active individuals

Jacob will begin consulting on Tuesdays starting 8th of July !!

Welcoming the latest member of the BHS team, physiotherapist Chris!

Chris has an interest in all facets of musculoskeletal care, from chronic back pain to tendinopathies, but has a particular interest in physiotherapy care for cricketers and musicians.

Georgia has opened up some more out of hours appointment times! In addition to Thursday mornings, remedial massage is now available with Georgia on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Staying active is extremely important for many facets of overall health and wellbeing. The Australian Guidelines recommend that adults (aged 18-64) complete an equivalent combination of 2.5 - 5 hours of moderate-intensity exercise or 1.25 - 2.5 hours of vigorous intensity activity per week. As a part of this, strength training should be incorporated at least 2 days per week.

By building activity into your daily routines you can achieve this. For example, at BHS, we have walking meetings to get us moving and out in the sunshine! If you currently aren't meeting these guidelines, start by doing bit by bit until you gradually meet the recommended amount but if you are unsure where to start, or have concerns that may impact your ability to safely exercise, consulting an exercise physiologist or physiotherapist may be a place to start!
