It’s more than just knitting — it’s about conversation, laughter, and sharing stories over a hot cuppa. The joy in the room is contagious, and every stitch is made with love. 💕

🌱 Growing Together at Kalyra Woodcroft! 🌿

Recently, we had the joy of welcoming students from Southern Montessori School to join our residents in planting vegetables. Together, they added fresh life to our garden beds—and soon, that produce will be making its way into delicious dishes in our café kitchen! 🥕🍅

This heartwarming collaboration is a beautiful reminder of the power of nurturing nature, learning side by side, and building meaningful connections across generations. 💚

📣 Exciting News from Kalyra!

This week, we proudly launched a new and innovative training program in partnership with The Action Learning Institute (ALI) and the Australian Nursing Midwifery Education Centre (ANMEC)!

Our first cohort of Help at Home Support Workers (HSWs) have commenced the CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support—delivered through a workplace-based action learning model.

🎓 Supported by Skills SA funding, participants will gain a nationally recognised qualification while continuing to provide high-quality, person-centred care to our community.

👏 Congratulations to our first group of learners! We look forward to seeing the impact this program brings.

When the Young connect with the Young at Heart 💚

Yesterday we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the SAGE tour to Kalyra Woodcroft! This group of aged care and retirement living leaders from around Australia came to see something we’re incredibly proud of — our award-winning Intergenerational Program.

With the help of the wonderful students from Southern Montessori and our lovely residents, we shared stories, laughs, and some truly heartwarming moments. Everyone had the chance to talk about the joy and connection this program brings to both generations.

Thank you to the SAGE group for visiting and recognising the importance of creating meaningful relationships across generations.

A special outing for some of our Kalyra Woodcroft residents!
They recently attended a commemorative lunch as part of South Australia's History Festival, marking 80 years since World War II.

Held at Keswick Barracks, the event included a thought-provoking talk and discussion about the lasting impact WWII had on the development of South Australia.

We’re proud to be part of the SA Innovation Hub — a fantastic group working together to improve the lives of older people by giving them more choice and better services.

Last night, we were thrilled to welcome a very special guest — Ms Liz Hefren-Webb, who has been appointed as the new Aged Care Quality and Safety Commissioner.

This is such an important role, leading the national regulator of aged care and helping to ensure older Australians are safe, supported, and respected.

We’re excited about what the future holds and proud to be part of the conversation on how we can make ageing a more positive experience for everyone 💙
