Such exciting research around Parkinson's and the gut microbiome....
Our microbiome can tell us so much about not just what is happening now and possibly why, but can give us some great insights into what we need to change for healthy ageing and longevity..

This just blows my mind..
WHY is cancer happening to us younger and younger?
WHY do we have illnesses that were once reserved for the older generation?
Did you know we can learn a lot about our health and susceptibility to chronic illness from our Microbiome?
Microbiome testing is a great way to see exactly what's going on in our gut and just how "healthy" we are?

It's always tough to get the little ones to think trying something new when it comes to veggies is a good idea. Strategies that include rewards or fun games can be very useful when you're working towards expanding their food choices.
The main thing to remember is the reward has to be something they really want and isn't something they get access to at any other time than when they try a new food..
The key is patience and consistency... having been through this with my own son I know it's not easy, it can drive you crazy, it takes forever BUT it can be done.
If you want to find out more or need some help I'd love to work with you - You CAN do it!!
The more convenient foods are the more highly processed they are likely to be. It can be so difficult to get kids to eat a varied and healthy diet with fruit and vegetables especially if they have sensory issues. The earlier we can tackle this the more chance we have of making changes..

Growing up with parents that owned an Almond farm I had a love / hate relationship with this powerful little nut...
The reality is we can almost call it a super nut, containing B Vitamins, protein, healthy fats, calcium, magnesium and are high in antioxidants..
Additionally they're great to help reduce blood pressure, help control blood sugar, prevent oxidation of LDL cholesterol, reduce hunger and support a healthy weight range.
So grab some today...

Kava has been used for centuries by the Pacific Islanders as part of welcoming ceremonies for important visitors. Part of its purpose was to help the visitors feel relaxed and calm to increase their ability to socialise.
In western herbal medicine we use Kava to help relieve symptoms of mild anxiety and restlessness as well as helping you to sleep. This is a great short term option, but like most things getting to the root of the cause is best for long term success.

Copper overload is common in kids struggling with ADHD, Autism and behavioural issues... just to name a few and it's often as a result of a genetic inability to control the copper:zinc ratio.
People that struggle with this need to avoid supplements that contain copper and those foods that contain copper such as organ meats, shellfish, fish, nuts, seeds, whole grains, chocolate (disappointing I know) and carob.
Treatment generally involves adding in nutrients such as Zinc and B6 (plus others possibly depending on requirements) as well as drinking bottled water and limiting the use of swimming pools that may be treated with copper sulfate anti algae agents.

Using collagen as a supplement seemed to be the number 1 priority in 2022 for a number of my patients and whilst I prefer using home made broths for collagen and amino acid needs, the reality is a time poor lifestyle doesn't always make that possible.
Some of the best reasons to use collagen include better skin, reducing fine lines (who doesn't want that), thicker / healthier hair, stronger nails, improvements in osteoarthritis / joint pain / inflammation, reflux / indigestion, gut healing and increased muscle mass..
Seems like a good reason to add that into your diet.

Sick and tired of everything reading more like a science experiment and less like an actual product, mother of two and Naturopath Sonia Tzerefos decided to take matters into her own hands and began creating all natural products to use in the home.
“When you have two kids and one of them is diagnosed with Autism, meaning he’s hypersensitive to chemicals whether they’re in the foods he eats or the products put on his skin, you truly realise how vulnerable the body is to all the chemicals we’re exposed to”
Why are so many kids being diagnosed with Autism, ADD, ADHD or suffering from recurrent illnesses such as tonsillitis, ear infections and eczema.. what’s changed?
Mumma’s Own is here to offer products that don’t contain toxic chemicals, are made from all natural ingredients and are gentle to ourselves and more importantly our children.
From the team at Mumma’s Own, we trust you’ll love our products as much as we do.
