Commencing May 11th, Clinical Labs will be expanding their blood collection services at Belair Medical to include Saturday mornings.

At Belair Medical, we are committed to providing you with the highest standard of healthcare and want to ensure that your needs are met with ease and accessibility. We understand the importance of flexibility in scheduling appointments, and recognise that this new Saturday morning service will help our patients who work and those with otherwise busy lives.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Saturday morning blood collection sessions starting this Saturday, 11th May, 2024, available from 8.30am to 11.30 am. "

Free Flu vaccines are on the way for eligible patients!
Over 65 flu vaccine will arrive this Wednesday 27/3.
Funded flu vaccines for others, including children should arrive on 3/4/24
Those eligible for Free funded vaccines include;
Children 6months - under 5years of age
Pregnant people (any trimester)
Aboriginal & Torrens Strait Islander people over 6months of age
Anyone 65 or over
Anyone over 6 months with certain medical conditions -Talk to your GP, or immunisation provider, or visit sahealth.sa.gov.au/flu to find out if you are, or your child, is eligible.

We have private vaccine stocks available now and our flu clinics will be held every Tuesday - the first commencing on 9/4/24.

UNDER 5? URGENT NEED FOR FLU VACCINATIONS!

Currently the uptake rate of flu vaccination for children Under 5 is very low - there are many paediatric ( & adult) Flu cases presenting to FMC.

We wish to remind parents that
" Flu vaccination is advised for everyone over the age of 6 months
& that it is Government funded for those under the age of 5, or for anyone with underlying health conditions that put them at higher risk (e.g asthma & diabetes).
We are currently running Flu Clinics along side Covid clinics. Please phone 8279 7600, or book online.

What an opportunity. The federal health minister, the Hon Mark Butler, spent over an hour listening to our concerns, experiences and ideas regarding the current state of general practice.
He showed a genuine interest, understanding and desire to improve our health system.
Impressive.
Thanks also to Louise Miller-Frost, Member for Boothby and Catherine Hutchesson, Member for Waite, for their time and interest.

We regretfully announce that we have had to make changes to our billing policy. We have endeavoured to continue to Bulk bill as much as possible, however medicare rebates are not keeping up with the cost of running a medical practice.

From Monday 13th March2023;
Reduced gap fees will apply for pensioner and healthcare card holders.

Bulk billing will continue to be available for children until they turn 13 and for DVA patients.

Private gaps will apply on weekends for all patients.

Patients genuinely facing financial hardship are encouraged to discuss their individual circumstances with their doctor.

Our excitement is building!
Dr Alice Roberts-Thomson is returning to Belair Medical next week, after extended Maternity leave.
Alice's special interest is in the care of women and children. She provides shared care to pregnant women and support to parents and their young children to resolve feeding, settling and sleep issues.
She loves getting to know her patients and working with them to find the solutions to suit their unique circumstances.
