Why should you include an abdominal massage to your full body massage treatment?
Massaging the abdomen may help in the following ways:
• Support relaxation of the abdominal muscles
• Helps stimulate digestion
• Relieve constipation
• Improve digestive function
• Reduce bloating
• Increase circulation and blood flow to the abdomen
• Support the natural process of cellular waste removal
• Encourages relaxation
• Tones and strengthens the abdominal muscles
• Release physical and emotional tension
• Releases muscle spasms
• Supports abdominal organ function
For me personally I love abdominal massage. I find abdominal massage grounding, nurturing and supportive of my health, posture and alignment. Because I have experienced wonderful benefits and have seen clients benefit from the application of abdominal massage this is why I encourage it throughout my practice. Best practice is on an empty stomach then as usual after any massage increase your water intake and warm herbal teas to help support the body in the process of flushing the system of waste.

Mother's Day Sunday 11th of May (vouchers available for 60 or 90min relaxation/therapeutic massage, reach out if interested). Most importantly this week is a great time to reflect on those special women in our lives... Ones who we are able to touch, hold, hug and say thank you to or those that have died and we hold their light bright in our hearts and whisper thank you out towards the sea or the trees. Maybe a reflection on those Mums we meet who volunteer so no child misses out, remind the solo mums out there how amazing they are, call a friend or family member who may have lost their Mum or Nanna, congratulate the new mums who have welcomed their baby into the world and remind them it's ok to laugh and cry all at the same time. Reach out to those friends who live near and far or across the sea who you love so very much and their pure energy and size of heart just fills your cup. Forever grateful for these women... it takes a village, and it takes many hands... Happy Mother's Day and thank you xx

*Hot stone massage*
Applying warm coconut oil and massaging the body with smooth, heated basalt and jade stones, combined with flowing hand and arm techniques, this therapeutic massage creates a very grounding and nurturing treatment for the individual.
Hot stone massage supports calming the mind, releasing tension, adhesions and toxins held within the muscles and tissues, improves circulation and nourishment to the whole body, while relaxing the nervous system and promoting vitality and rejuvenation.
Hot stone massages are available from 9:30am with me on Tuesday and Thursday at Integrative Health Solutions (Belair)
*This style of massage is not appropriate for women during pregnancy.

Massage isn’t just about relaxation—it’s about nourishing your heart, mind, and body as a whole. Here is a handful of positive attributes that massage generates to help nourish and re-energise our entire being:
Regulates the Nervous System
Reduces Cortisol & Increases Feel-Good Hormones
Lowers Blood Pressure
Improves Circulation
Supports Lymphatic Flow
Encourages Healthy Sleep
Supports a healthy immune system
As we move into the new season of Autumn it's a great time to move into a new rhythm with your self-care... creating a ritual of a once-a-month massage or every 6 weeks for 60 or 90mins can be holistically beneficial for your ongoing health and wellbeing. Please reach out to discuss. xx Megan

BURNOUT... what does it feel like physically, emotionally, mentally, energetically...? Depletion, exhaustion, persistent fatigue. Reduced motivation, productivity, and efficiency. Disengagement, detachment, feeling overwhelmed. Inadequate levels and quality of sleep. Headaches, muscle tension, digestive issues… Burnout is real, and many people are experiencing this. Occupational burnout, parental burnout... Burnout is more than just feeling tired, it is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by prolonged stress. If the signs and symptoms are ignored and begin to compile and compound along with the many roles, responsibilities and demands of life, these signs could lead to long-term health consequences.
How does massage fit into this picture? By receiving therapeutic massage focusing on the combination of relaxation, connection and unwinding those tight spots or areas of pain and discomfort where we hold our tension, stress and worries we could start doing great things for ourselves.
*Boot circulation and energy levels
*Enhance and support our emotional well-being
*Improve our length and quality of sleep
*Ease those places of pain, tension, and discomfort
*Reduce our stress hormones
*Reconnect with ourselves by becoming still and quiet in a safe calm space
*Tend to our nervous system by slowing everything down and shift into the rest and digest phase
*Within ourselves, move from existing in a state of fragmentation to feeling revitalized, centred, and grounded
Burnout requires proactive care (if you feel you are experiencing burnout, please always turn to your GP for guidance and help). Massage therapy offers a holistic approach to managing stress, reducing physical tension, and enhancing emotional resilience. By integrating massage as a regular part of your health and well-being routine once a month or every 6 weeks you can work towards being in a state of balance, feeling energised, and replenished with a greater ability to face life’s challenges with a renewed sense of vitality and resilience.
