Subject: NEW CLINIC LOCATION

Hi ,
After 9 years in my current clinic, I’m moving to a new professional space that’s a much better fit for the Bowen Therapy work I do.
From Monday 20 April, all appointments will be at:

Posture and Pain Clinic
155 Bayswater Road
Currajong

The new space is a calm, wellness-focused environment alongside Chinese medicine, which fits well with the principles behind much of Bowen Therapy. Same David, same approach – just a better setting for your treatments.
You can continue to book online as usual through my website:
www.postureandpainclinic.com.au
Please just note the new address for your next visit.
I’m looking forward to welcoming you there.
David

Walking posture tip:

Pull your thighs back when walking and pressure goes from heel to fore foot.
It eases strain on knees and hips.
Try it on your next walk.

Back pain when driving?

Try getting in back-first and swivelling your legs in.
Adjust the backrest — make more upright, most lean back.
It makes a difference over time.
Do you drive every day?

Most people are told to “pull your shoulders back and stand tall.”
But when you do that, notice where your breath goes — it rises into your chest. That’s shallow breathing, and it keeps your body in stress mode.
Now, try this: pull your thighs back instead.
Feel how your chest lifts naturally and your breath drops lower, into your belly? That’s diaphragm breathing — calm, deep, and natural.
The way you’ve been standing all your life may be restricting your breathing. When you change your posture, your breathing changes — and when your breathing changes, your whole body relaxes.
This simple shift can make a huge difference for people dealing with back pain, anxiety, and stress.
In the clinic, I see it every day — people feel calmer and breathe easier as soon as their body is upright.

Pain when you first get out of bed?
Try sleeping on your side with a cushion between your knees and your legs extended.
It may ease back pain and stop those nighttime toilet trips.
Have you tried this?

Most people are told to “pull your shoulders back and stand up straight.”

Unfortunately, that’s one of the biggest reasons back and neck pain keep coming back!

When shoulders go back, your hips and thighs shift forward — putting stress on your lower back and neck as your eyes try to find the horizon.

The correct way to stand tall is to pull your thighs back, not your shoulders. This brings your chest forward naturally and lets your spine align the way it’s designed to.

The result? Less tension. Faster healing. Pain that doesn’t come back.
