🎶 Girls’ ASD Music Therapy Group 🎶

For autistic girls who love music, creativity, and connection!

At TLC Music Therapy, we celebrate each child’s unique strengths and ways of connecting. Our small group programs offer a supportive, inclusive space for girls to explore friendship, communication, and self-expression — through the joy of music.

Each week during the school term, we’ll use singing, movement, instrument play, song writing, storytelling, and creative games to nurture:
-Social communication and peer connection
-Emotional regulation and resilience
-Play and imagination
-Receptive and expressive communication

Led by our experienced registered music therapists:
Hilary Baxter (Ages 6–8) | Tuesdays 4:45–5:30pm
Christie Cula-Reid (Ages 9–11) | Tuesdays 5:00–5:45pm

Parents are welcome to join in the group or stay close by — there are three lovely cafés close by!

Group fees are based on our hourly rate, shared among participants, with term-based commitment.

Our Adult Mental Health Group is a strengths-based music therapy program designed for adults with mental health challenges.

What you’ll gain:

Our small-group music therapy sessions provide a safe, inclusive and engaging space for children with disabilities or medical conditions to connect, learn, and grow.

Today I'm launching our new Rhythm & Readiness program! A music-based school readiness group designed especially for 3-5 year olds.

Our program supports all areas of preschooler development and school readiness. Facilitated by me (a Registered Music Therapist) the sessions are high quality and individualised to the unique needs of the children in the group.

The children take part in fun and engaging activities designed to develop:
Social & Emotional Skills – sharing, turn-taking, managing feelings
Language & Communication – listening, following instructions, building vocabulary
Cognitive Skills – early literacy, numeracy, memory and sequencing
Physical Development – fine motor (writing readiness), gross motor (coordination)
Independence – routines, transitions, confidence in trying new things

Why music?
Music is a powerful tool for learning. It engages the whole child, mind, body and emotions, making it the perfect medium to prepare children for the big step into kinder or school.
