Creative Kids Therapy

Creative Kids Therapy Provides therapeutic creative counselling to kids, teens and parents. It offers a safe place to g*i I am also trained in Emotional Freedom Technique (tapping).

Using a range of techniques in my counselling, I have found creative arts therapy, including sandplay therapy, combined with other ‘talking’ therapies, extremely powerful and effective. Kids and teens find these techniques very engaging and playful, whilst learning strategies to cope, and getting a better understanding of how to be. Parents are intrigued by the process, the self discovery and personal development. Being creative in my counselling, gives individuals a sense of a relaxed space where they can let down any guards and be open to exploring the process. Some common reasons for seeking out a Counsellor:

A little Christmas thank you that meant a lot 🎄💚

Feeling so grateful to be part of such an inclusive, supportive clinic.
is more than just a workplace — it’s a community of genuinely caring practitioners who support one another and the families we work with.🙌🏻🥰

As a sole practitioner who works from my home practice most of the week (thankfully with my dog by my side 🐾), having a space where I can connect with other practitioners means so much. 🙏🏼

The opportunity to collaborate, network, refer on to others, and feel part of an extended team is amazing ✨

We’ve been in this space just over a year now, and receiving such a thoughtful Christmas gift during my final shift there for 2025 felt really special.😍

A heartfelt thank you to James and Jenna Evans for the vision, care and leadership you bring to this space — and for creating a clinic that continues to grow with such a beautiful range of expertise and practitioners.

Thank you for making this place what it is 🎄💕

It all began with a phone call 😳😢

My sister rang to let me know that her best friend and her family were safe. 🙏🏼

“Have you heard the news?” she asked. “There’s been a shooting in Bondi — it’s all over the TV.”

Only then did I turn on the TV — breaking news on every channel!! As the footage unfolded, my heart sank. The images were vivid and confronting: people running in sheer panic, families desperately trying to keep themselves safe, and the devastating reality of what had taken place at Bondi Beach.

At first, I was in shock — I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

I started crying as the number of lives lost rose so suddenly — it took my breath away. 😭

I was still on the phone with my sister when it hit me. I struggled to comprehend how such violence and hate could erupt in broad daylight, during what should have been a time of celebration, connection and safety, with families and community gathered together during Hanukkah.🤷🏻‍♀️😩

My uncle spent most of his life living and working in Bondi.
Only a couple of years ago, our family stood together in the water at Bondi Beach to release his ashes into the ocean — a place filled with love, memory and meaning for us. 🥰

Knowing how close that moment was to where this tragedy unfolded makes it feel deeply personal. 😔

Growing up, my Nan married a wonderful Jewish man. While faith wasn’t strongly practised, we came together as a family to celebrate Passover and to light candles at the beginning of Hanukkah — moments of connection, shared meals, love and laughter.

In the midst of such devastation, it has been incredibly moving to see people step up, thinking only of how they could help

Emergency services, civilians supporting one another, surfboards used as stretchers, and extraordinary bravery shown in the face of unimaginable danger. 🙏🏼🙌🏻

So many lives have been lost. So many more have been forever changed. 💔

Tonight … I’m going to light a candle and hold space for those who lost their lives at Bondi Beach, and for every person and family who will be forever affected by this tragedy. 😭 💔

I invite you to light a candle too, and I pray for love and peace. 🕯️💚☮️

Social Media Ban for Under 16s has begun 🚫📱

The under-16 social media ban came into effect yesterday, and while it seems many parents have supported the change, I’m finding myself sitting with mixed feelings about how it will look in real life.

In our home, we’ve been fortunate. My daughter hasn’t experienced major issues online, and I know that shapes the way I see all of this. I can definitely understand the intention behind the ban, but I also hold space for the complexity — especially around connection, privacy, and how teens actually move through their social world today.

Every family’s experience with social media is so different, and I know there will be a wide range of emotions right now as things begin to shift.

If your teen is feeling unsettled, overwhelmed, or unsure, there’s a supportive resource on the final slide of the carousel. 💚

I’d love to keep this a respectful, grounded conversation —
How is your family navigating these changes so far?

Big love 😘

A glimpse into the Deeper Work I offer Mums 🙏🏼💕

This is the depth of the deeper work I support Mums with — releasing old emotional patterns and limiting beliefs, uncovering new learnings, and helping the nervous system soften. ✨

Coaching can take you into places your mind can’t reach on its own.🙌🏻

When we access the unconscious mind, that’s where the real insights, shifts and breakthroughs happen. 🌟

Through Hypnotherapy, NLP, Time Line Therapy, Creative Arts Therapy and Tapping, there is so much we can explore together — and so much I can guide and support you with.🙏🏼🥰

I’ve been supporting parents in my work for many years, and this year I’ve completed extensive training to deepen this offering.

In 2026, I’ll be expanding my work with Mums even further. 👏🏻🌿

If you’d like to know more, feel free to DM me or drop “2026” in the comments and I’ll send you more info. 💚

Anyone else not organised for Christmas? 🙋🏻‍♀️😂🎄

17 days to go and yes — the decorations are up…
but the organised part? Yeah, not quite. 😂✨

Hosting Christmas for my hubby’s family,
my daughter’s birthday is the same day,
she wants a gathering too,
and I somehow decided painting the house before then was a great idea. 🎨😅

Maybe a little unrealistic but still holding onto a little hope that I can do it 😉😆🤷🏻‍♀️

Still seeing clients, wrapping up work projects,
and juggling all the December things.

Every year this is how I roll — chaotic, stressed, slightly crazy —
and somehow I still pull it together
before collapsing on Christmas Day with wine in hand. 🍷🎄😂

Anyone else in the December chaos? Please sure the love and understanding 🙏🏼😆🤷🏻‍♀️

Do your kids still believe in Santa?🎄🎅🏻

Our tree is finally up — the kids decorated it, and Timmy & Jimmy (our cheeky elves) have made their grand return. 😂🎅🏻

My boy asked today, “When are our elves coming back?”
And my heart did that little squeeze… because I think this might be our last year of believing. He just turned 10, and his asking more questions 🤔😢💚

Earlier this year he quietly asked, “Mum… is Santa real?”
I didn’t say yes, but I didn’t say no either. I asked what he thought.
He said he still believed — and that was enough for now. 💚

Not long after, his bestie was told at school that Santa isn’t real and came home heartbroken. It reminded me how tender this age is… wanting to grow up, but still wanting the magic too. ✨

So for now, I’m soaking it up — the elves, the tree, the sparkle, the excitement.
Because these moments don’t come back. 😢😍🎅🏻

Do your kids still believe in the magic? Or are you in that in-between stage too?

Hills people — please tell me I’m not the only one who gets wildlife chaos? 😂🦔

We had a little echidna visitor in our yard today. 🦔💚

Skip (my Jack Russel) was very excited (way too excited 😅), and the poor thing buried itself deep into the ground to feel safe. 😳

Before my first afternoon client arrived, I rang the vet to check if I needed to bring it in. They reassured me it was simply scared and trying to stay cool in the heat. 💚

I kept trekking up and down my steep block between clients — checking that it was breathing, flicking a bit of water onto it and the soil to help it cool down, and leaving a shallow lid of water nearby. 🙏🏼🤪

Skip normally greets my clients at the top of the drive or walks them into the clinic, but today was a whole different story. He kept trying to sneak back down to his “spiky friend,” so I had to explain why he needed to stay inside.

My son got home from school in the middle of it all too, and of course Skip tried to escape ag*in for another look 🙈.

It was a bit chaotic, but we did our best — keeping Skip in and giving our little visitor space and safety until it feels ready to wander off. 🙏🏼🦔💕

It’s been one of those days… 🤷🏻‍♀️😩

I’ve cried in the car.
I’ve cried in bed.
The full ugly-cry kind of morning. 😭

Nothing went to plan.
My boy didn’t make it to school, emotions were high, mine included,
and I felt stretched in every direction.

I had to breathe and tap before my business meeting 🙏🏼

Then escape outside with a cuppa to ground myself in the sunshine and trees.☕️🌿

To top it off… my son reminded me there’s 22 days till Christmas 🤪🎄
plus my daughter’s birthday right before it. 🎁

And tomorrow is another big day —
a school meeting for extra support for my boy,
and the last bit of work to see what more I can do to best support my daughter. 🥰

Do you ever have days where it’s just one thing after the other… and you end up in an ugly cry or a scream? 😫😭

What helps you self-regulate when everything feels like it’s turned to s**t?

Let me know in the comments. 💚

I love finding hearts in unexpected places 💗

I’ve been finding hearts in random everyday things for quite some time now. 🙏🏼😍

From leaves to stones, food, puddles… they just seem to appear. 🤷🏻‍♀️💗✨

Every time, it brings this little spark of joy — a pause in my step, a moment of noticing.💖

Over time, it’s become something really special that’s now shared. 🥰

It’s become a shared moment now… these little hearts that show up in everyday life. 🙏🏼

My son will call out, “Mum, look what I found!”
Friends send photos saying, “Thought of you.”

Sometimes they arrive when I really need it.
Other times they show up so I can brighten someone else’s day. 💚

I love how these hearts choose to find me…
and whether it’s just slowing down enough to notice or something more meaningful -

I always take it as a positive sign.

💕Affirmation
💕Self-love
💕Kindness
💕Gratitude
💕Love of others

Whatever the meaning… they always feel like a little gift.

Do you find hearts too? 💖

Who knew a simple balloon could help kids self-regulate? 🙌🏻🎈

Playing Keepy Uppy — the Bluey classic — is such a simple, playful way to support kids with self-regulation. 🎈🙌🏻

I use this game quite a lot with my clients, and I often send them home with a few balloons because it’s an easy regulating tool for before school… and a great way to release tension after a big day. 🤗

Here’s why it works:

✨ movement helps shift big feelings

✨ the rhythm of playing brings kids back into their bodies

✨ happy endorphins from play boost mood — you honestly can’t help but laugh 🤣

✨ it supports focus + coordination

✨ it builds connection

✨ and it’s fun — which makes it something kids will actually use 🤷🏻‍♀️💛

And because kids love it, it becomes such an easy tool to reach for — and a really simple one to share with families too. 💛🎈

🎈 SAVE this for the wobbly moments
🎈 Pop a 🎈 if you’ve played this too 😘

His “NO” was the right answer. 🙌🏻🥰

Camp just wasn’t my boy’s “YES” this time.🤷🏻‍♀️

Every time I gently revisited it, I could see his nervous system slip into freeze —
he couldn’t explain why,
only…“I just don’t want to.”

It wasn’t defiance.
It was his capacity.
It was his safety.

Letting go of my expectations and backing his decision was the most respectful thing I could do.🙏🏼😍

We can back them.
We can trust them.
We can meet them where they’re at.

If your ND child has ever said “No” to something big,
you’re not alone. 💛

I’d love to hear your shares — when did your child’s “No” turn out to be the right answer? 🙏🏼🥰

Magic sand & sensory sand recall — what parents need to know.

Several brands of magic sand, sensory sand and coloured play sand have now been recalled after testing found low-level asbestos contamination. 😳😩

These products were widely sold across Australia, and like so many parents and educators, I had no way of knowing. 😢🫣

It honestly feels really upsetting — this is such a loved activity for kids. We offer it because it’s creative, calming and fun… and then to find out there may have been risks involved feels incredibly frustrating.😡

As soon as the updated recall was released, I removed the sand, the container and the tools, and I’ve done a full deep clean of the area.

Your children’s safety in my therapy space will always come first. 🙏🏼💚

I’ve included a QR code in the slides so you can check the full and updated ACCC recall list and confirm whether your products are affected.

If you’re feeling unsure or worried, please feel free to DM me — I’m here to help guide you through it. 🌿✨
