Find out something new about Jessie 💜
✨Jessie's Teaching Style
Jessie's holistic classes weave a tapestry of pranayama, kriya and asana, focused on cultivating prana and recognition of the subtle energetic aspects of our yoga practice. Her love for embodied dance, Himalayan Kriya and tantrik philosophy creates a container for spontaneity, inner inquiry and Self exploration.
✨ A glimpse into Jessie's practice
💜Do you have any pre-class rituals?
Consecration. This is a ritual I practice before and within my classes. It is a practice of releasing attachments to the outcomes of our actions on the mat, an opening to something beyond the intellect, beyond the ordinary and aligning with the ultimate goal of our yoga practice - whether you call it the divine, source energy, liberation or freedom.
💜Your favourite yoga adjustment to receive
It's certainly not your typical adjustment for a standard yoga class! But I love a good hamstring and glute massage in Uttansana (standing forward fold). Find me at the studio if you want to try something outlandish.
💜 Your favourite pranyama and why
3-part yogic breath - Dirga pranayama. This is an integral part of my morning practice, helping me awaken my lung capacity and spread awareness down and into the body.
Jessie is our studio manager, helping with everything from admin to caring for our plants and tech issues. You'll find her teaching Saturday at 9:30 am Vinyasa, and for the next couple of weeks also on Mondays 6pm for Vinyasa and 7:30 pm Flow to Yin.
If you're keen on Jessie's kriya practices, or any of the yogic philosophy, traditional ritual and mantra you explore on the mat, have a look at our Ashram Yoga Retreat. Over the March long weekend Jessie and Jodie will be sharing some special practices interwoven with traditional Ashram life. We'd love to have you🙏
