🏉✨ AFL Grand Final Fever at Cro Care! ✨🏉

We might not be running onto the MCG, but our residents and staff sure know how to throw a Grand Final party! The decorations were up, the snacks were ready, and the excitement was in the air.

Our staff brought their own team spirit to celebrate, while residents joined in the fun with games trying to score a goal before the big match began. It was laughter, cheers, and plenty of friendly competition all around.

We’re not biased… but GO CATS! 💙🤍🐱

This year, Cro Care is proud to host a Cuppa for Dementia Afternoon Tea with our residents and families. 💜

As we have a dedicated Memory Support Unit, this cause is very close to our heart and community. While the afternoon tea itself is for our Cro Care family, we warmly welcome anyone who wishes to support this wonderful cause by making a donation. Every contribution helps raise awareness and funds for dementia support. 💜

☕ Together, let’s make a difference — one cup at a time.

It’s been a little quiet here, but that’s because we’ve been busy behind the scenes building our team and focusing on making our home the best it can be.

Now, we’re ready to share this next chapter with you! With Natali Juric as our General Manager and Anthony Sirgiannis as our Clinical Governance Manager, we’re entering an exciting new era for our ethno-specific home – one that celebrates culture, care, and community.

We’d love for you to join (or rejoin) us on the journey. Stay tuned for updates, stories, and a glimpse into life at Cro Care.

Our History

The idea of a Croatian aged care facility goes back to 1979 when the Australian Croatian Association of Geelong conducted a survey of needs of Croatian elderly in Geelong and produced a report in 1980. This report clearly forecasts a growing ageing migrant population and a lack of aged care facilities to meet those needs.

Many ethnic communities in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s built their own ethno-specific aged care facilities, including the Slovenians, Ukrainians, Hungarian, Dutch and Russian, but this was not the case for Victorian Croatians.

The First (Inaugural) meeting of the 'Steering Committee' for establishment of the Victorian Croatian Aged Care Facility was held 3. November 2006.

The Croatian community in Victoria has a strong and proud history of pooling their resources together to build churches, church halls, sporting centers and cultural associations. This has provided a valuable resource for the Croatian community to get-together, to maintain their language and continue their customs.
