So, in one week today, I’ll be bionic with a new hip.

I’m really enjoying some time at home before the surgery to keep myself as calm and ready as I can be.

I just made these lovely organic, 4 ingredients choc mousse as a little treat for us.

What’s this got to do with mental health and therapy? Well, actually - plenty!

Anything that brings you comfort, joy, or a sense of accomplishment is another way to regulate and calm your nervous system.

Therapy, particularly somatic work and more natural alternatives don’t always need to be steeped in theory!

Making yourself a nourishing treat, savouring and slowing down are simple, yet highly underrated tools.

When did you last have some good old yum yum?

❤️

I’m so grateful to live in an area I love. This lovely little park is just at the end of our Street. 😀

It’s a great spot to do some Tai Chi and stretching exercises, with a deck overlooking the water and wildlife. 🦆🦆

Being mindful around the often unnoticed gifts we have available to us is a way to increase your overall wellbeing. 🥰🥰

I love my little life ♥️♥️

DBT and the Wise Mind

Do you know how to access your 'wise mind'?

The Wise Mind is a central concept in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), developed by Dr Marsha Linehan. It represents the "middle ground" or the overlap between our logic and our emotions.

The theory suggests that human experience is often pulled between two primary states of mind, and finding a balance between them leads to clearer intuition and better decision-making.

In practice, getting to Wise Mind often involves mindfulness techniques, such as focusing on the breath or asking oneself, "Is this thought coming from Wise Mind?" during moments of high stress. It is a tool for reducing emotional reactivity and improving interpersonal effectiveness.

In the clinic, we can work with you to help you understand how to use your wise mind to make big decisions.

DBT is a powerful and enlightening clinical tool.

Which deal are you taking? 🤪

A store put out two boxes of pencils and accidentally started a war. 😅

Left-handed pencils: 20¢ each.
Right-handed pencils: 5 for $1.

People are LOSING it in the comments trying to figure out the better deal.

Some are calculating. Some are arguing. Some just realized something. 👀

Math teachers everywhere are quietly weeping.

Which one are you grabbing? 🤔
