I’ve just returned from my first trip to China 🇨🇳✨
From Xi’an, I took the high speed train 🚄 to Luoyang, an ancient city along the Silk Road, to attend the Mrs Grace Global event. It was more meaningful than I expected. Thank you Emma Huang and Tricia Shearer 🤍
This wasn’t a typical beauty pageant.
There were no swimsuits.
No impossible beauty standards.
No stressful Q and A sessions.
Instead, women were recognised for their smile 😊, style 👗, elegance ✨, presence, and the way they carry themselves. It was a celebration of grace and self expression 🌸
What stayed with me most was watching women step onto the stage for the very first time 🌟
None of them were models.
They were ordinary women over 35.
The eldest was 76.
The winner was 67 👑
It reminded me of the Celebrating Women event by YeahTheGirl40+ with last November 💕
Different stages, but the same heart — creating a space where women are encouraged to show up, try something new, and be seen.
Watching these women on stage was deeply moving. Not because of the titles they received, but because they overcame the nerves that once held them back and allowed themselves to be seen 🌷
As for myself, I also prepared to walk the runway and deliver a speech 🎤👠
It wasn’t easy, but when I was invited to be a judge, I said yes. Like many of the ladies, I wanted to take the opportunity to stretch and grow 🌱
I made small choices to show up well. I looked after my health 🍎, my body, my posture and my skin ✨But more than that, I was reminded that growth often begins the moment we stop waiting to feel ready.
Standing on that stage, I surprised myself. Perhaps becoming isn’t about doing more or pushing harder. Sometimes, it’s about accepting who you are on the inside and being honest about who you are, the good and the imperfect 💛
This journey also reminded me why I do what I do at InnoShape 🌊
To support women as they step into new seasons of life feeling stronger, more aligned, and at ease in their own bodies.
I’m grateful that I took this step of faith 🙏
And for the incredible women I met along the way who took brave steps of their own 🌟
Cheers 🥂
