🏐⚠️ Netballers, let’s talk ankle health! Netball is all about agility, precision, and speed, but with those quick direction changes and jumps, ankle injuries are a risk. Did you know ankle sprains are the most reported injury in our sport? It’s time to tackle this head-on. 💪💬

🩹 When it comes to risk reduction and recovery, many players turn to ankle taping and guards. Ankle taping provides customizable support, with specific techniques tailored to individual needs, enhancing proprioception to reduce injury risk. On the flip side, ankle guards offer convenience and durability, easily wearable without the expertise needed for taping. It’s all about finding what suits you best! 👟🔒

💰🔄 Cost and effectiveness are crucial factors too. While taping may seem more affordable initially, the recurring costs add up over time. Meanwhile, ankle guards are a one-time investment that can last seasons. The choice ultimately comes down to personal preference and comfort. Whichever method you choose, remember to prioritize injury prevention to keep dominating on the court! 💥🏆

Many netballers who sprain their ankles do not seek appropriate treatment and will return to play too quickly, leading to increase risk of subsequent injury. Physiotherapists are well trained in assessment of injury severity, strength and conditioning programs and return to play assessment.
