The vestibular system lives in the inner ear and plays a huge role in how children move, learn, and feel.

It helps with:
✔️ Balance and coordination so kids can move confidently
✔️ Focus and learning by keeping the brain alert
✔️ Everyday tasks like dressing, washing, and getting around
✔️ Emotional regulation, helping kids feel calm and grounded

When we support the vestibular system through movement and play, we’re giving children the tools to thrive in daily life

Imaginative play is so much more than dress-ups and superheroes, it’s how children connect, express emotions, and explore who they are.

For neurodivergent children, play may look different repetitive scripts, media-inspired scenes, sensory-rich exploration, or quiet internal stories, but it’s every bit as meaningful.

At MoveAbout, we believe that all forms of imaginative play are valid. There’s no “right” way to play.

In our latest blog, we dive into:
✔️ What imaginative play really is
✔️ Why it’s so important for development
✔️ How to support neurodivergent kids in playful, respectful, and affirming ways

Whether your child is building castles from cushions, narrating silent stories, or scripting Bluey episodes, their imagination is powerful—and deserves to be celebrated.

So far in 2025, together we’ve helped make some pretty amazing things happen!

Through our partnership with B1G1, every therapy session, assessment, and even the everyday actions of our team contribute to something bigger.

Because of that, we’ve been able to support children around the world with:

⭐ 1,107 days of education for children with special needs in Nepal and Cambodia
⭐ 1,427 days of early childhood education in Tanzania
⭐ 9,394 days of clean water for students in Zambia

We’re so proud that the work we do here each day is also creating real change across the globe. Thank you for being part of it. 💙

NAIDOC Week 2025💛🖤❤️
This year, we celebrate 50 years of NAIDOC—a powerful legacy of honouring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices, culture, and resilience.

The 2025 theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy,” celebrates the strength of our Elders, the vision of our communities, and the legacy being carried forward by young leaders.

At MoveAbout Therapy Services, we acknowledge the importance of NAIDOC Week and stand in solidarity with First Nations peoples. We are committed to listening, learning, and supporting a future led by Indigenous voices, guided by truth, and grounded in respect.

Together, we celebrate the past, honour the present, and walk proudly toward a future shaped by the next generation.

Transitions are a part of everyday life, from tiny moments like packing away toys to big milestones like starting school. But for many children, these shifts can feel confusing, overwhelming, or even scary.

That’s because transitions ask a lot: stopping a task, shifting attention, managing emotions, and adapting to something new, all complex skills that are still developing in young brains.

If your child struggles with transitions, they’re not giving you a hard time... they’re having a hard time. And they need support, not pressure.

In our latest blog, we dive into why transitions can be tricky and share practical, connection-based strategies to make change feel safer and more manageable. From using visuals and routines to offering choices and validating big feelings, these little tools can make a big difference.

Head to our website to read the full blog and explore how you can turn transition moments into opportunities for connection, co-regulation, and growth.

When you take time out for professional development, it should feel energising, inspiring, and genuinely useful, not just another thing on the calendar. Here’s what makes a great in-person PD experience in 2025:

✅ Hands-on experience (not just sitting and listening)
✅ Evidence-informed theory (goodbye guesswork)
✅ Just enough neuro (relevant and practical)
✅ Real peer connection (some of the best learning happens in between)
✅ Free food (yes, really! Lunch and snacks included so you can focus and connect)

The PAA Workshop has all of this and more. Come along to learn about how we can support motor development through physical guidance and environmental design with Br Elaine Becker, founding faculty of the Institute for PAA.
