👂 What happens during a child’s hearing test?

Many parents feel unsure about what a hearing test for their child involves, but the process is simple, gentle and completely painless.

At Christal Clear Hearing, we take the time to make children feel comfortable and relaxed.

A standard children’s hearing assessment may include:

✔ Looking in the ears – We examine the ear canal and eardrum to check for wax or anything that may affect hearing.

✔ Middle ear test (tympanometry) – A quick test that checks how well the eardrum is moving and if there is any fluid behind it.

✔ Listening test – Your child will wear headphones and listen for different sounds or tones and respond when they hear them.

✔ Speech testing – Sometimes we also check how well your child can hear and understand speech.

✔ Results explained – We go through the results with you and discuss if any follow-up or treatment is needed.

Our goal is to make the experience positive, relaxed and even a little fun for kids.
