👀🩸 A talking tampon with eyes and legs? Yep, we went there!

Getting your period for the first time can feel very foreign, which is exactly why we created Cringe Quest. It’s a completely free, choose-your-own-adventure style game designed specifically for 8–12 year olds to make menstrual education fun, engaging, and a whole lot less intimidating.

This morning, to mark Menstrual Hygiene Day, we officially launched the game with a special activation at Sydney Montessori School.

We’ve tried to cover as many real-life scenarios as we possibly could so young people can learn how to navigate those awkward moments with confidence. Seeing the smiles (and a few raised eyebrows 🤨) from the students testing it out today reminds us exactly why we do what we do!

Ready to dive in? Hit the link in the first comment to start your Cringe Quest today!

"Information is abundant. What children need is guidance, not avoidance." – Kristy Turnbull, Practice Specialist – Relationship and Sexuality Education

The "Birds and the Bees" talk reflected a time when information was scarce and harder to access. That isn't the world today's children are growing up in. The shift isn't about having a different version of one big talk. It's about replacing it with many smaller, ongoing conversations.

Explore our Tricky Talks resource for support having them at home.

For generations of Australian families, s*x education at home was often a single, awkward conversation – then silence. Today, that approach falls short of what children actually need.

In our latest article, we explore why the "Birds and the Bees" talk is no longer enough, what's changed about the world today's children are growing up in and how parents and carers can have many smaller, age-appropriate conversations instead.

Our Practice Specialist Kristy Turnbull on The Morning Show this morning, on why the one–off “Birds and the Bees” talk no longer serves today’s families – and what to do instead.

Today’s children encounter adult themes long before a parent decides it’s “time” for the talk. Through social media, streaming, gaming chats and search engines, the internet often gets to the conversation first. What young people need isn’t avoidance. It’s guidance – from a trusted adult, in many small conversations across childhood.

Open dialogue at home builds something more powerful than knowledge. It builds resilience.

For 100 years, Interrelate has supported Australian families to have these conversations well.

đź’ˇ Thinking about using AI for relationship advice?

AI tools can help organise your thoughts, suggest ways to phrase difficult conversations and offer general relationship tips.

But they can’t understand your unique situation, read emotions or respond to power dynamics.

In our latest article, Interrelate Practice Specialist Michael Davy explains how to use AI responsibly – and when it’s important to seek human support instead.

Separation can be one of the biggest shocks a family faces.

Two households instead of one. Legal costs. Housing stress. Income disruption.

This is where early support can make a real difference. Family law services help families resolve parenting and property matters early – before conflict escalates into costly litigation.

When families can access support early, they’re often better able to navigate separation with less stress and less disruption.

Around 500,000 people across Australia turn to family and relationship services each year for support during separation, conflict and major life transitions.

These services help families reduce conflict, protect children and reach workable agreements during some of the most difficult periods in their lives — often without needing to go to court.

Early support matters.

It prevents conflict from escalating.

It protects children.

And it strengthens communities.

Family law services are not an optional extra in the justice system. They are essential prevention infrastructure that helps families resolve issues earlier and more safely.

Sustained investment in family and relationship services is critical to ensuring families across Australia can access the support they need.
