As we close out 2025, we reflect on a year centred on patient care, education, and collaboration. From supporting our patients every day to contributing to professional education and working closely with our referrers and hospital colleagues, we’re proud of what we’ve achieved together.

🩺 Advancing Surgical Skills Through Hands-On Training

Dr Brian Hsu recently led a cadaver training session at the UTS - University of Technology Sydney providing spine fellows with invaluable, practical experience in complex spinal anatomy and surgical techniques.

These sessions not only strengthen technical skill, but also foster the next generation of spine surgeons through mentorship, precision, and education.

A big thank you to UTS for supporting high-level surgical training and creating an environment where continuous learning thrives.

We were pleased to join the Australian Chinese Medical Association Inc NSW (ACMA) for an engaging GP dinner, where Dr Brian Hsu and Dr Bhisham Singh presented on Spine Conditions – New Technologies and New Approaches.

It was a wonderful evening of knowledge-sharing and discussion, made even more enjoyable over a banquet dinner with GPs of all ages and experiences. Events like these highlight the importance of collaboration between specialists and GPs in advancing patient care.

A big thank you to ACMA for the warm welcome and to all the GPs who joined us for this memorable evening.

Founded by Dr Brian Hsu, DDU has grown from a local meeting into a world-class forum for spine surgeons to collaborate, share knowledge, and improve patient outcomes.

This year’s theme, “𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘀, 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲", welcomes prominent international faculty for surgeon-led discussions on the future of spinal care.

We’re proud of Dr Hsu’s ongoing leadership in shaping this event.

Dr Brian Hsu & Dr Bhisham Singh

Dr Hsu has been caring for patients with spinal disorders for more than 10 years in NSW. Dr Hsu’s areas of interest lie in all aspects of spine surgery and spinal disorders, in particular, adult and paediatric spine deformity, complex cervical reconstructions, spinal osteotomies and degenerative cervical and lumbar conditions.

Dr Singh has completed 10 years of advanced surgical training in orthopaedic surgery in both the UK and India, and completed further spinal surgery fellowship training with Dr Hsu. He is experienced in treating cervical thoracic and lumbar spine issues as well as orthopaedic conditions. Areas of expertise include: • Paediatric spinal deformity • Adult spinal deformity • Degenerative disc disease • Scoliosis • Radiculopathy • Kyphosis • Myelopathy • Herniated disc • Spinal stenosis • Spondylolisthesis
