Dr Brian Hsu has been invited as international faculty to the Combined 5th AIIMS International Spine Deformity Course & PSACON 2026 in New Delhi (26–28 February).

This invitation reflects his long-standing contribution to scoliosis and complex spinal deformity care, particularly in idiopathic scoliosis.

Across the program, he’ll be shaping real world decision making, from chairing debates on challenging AIS scenarios, to unpacking non-fusion vs fusion in tweeners and walking surgeons through construct planning inside the OR (implant density, rods, screws and more).

These global forums help move the field forward, and it’s great to see Australian expertise helping shape smarter, earlier and better care for scoliosis patients worldwide.

This week, Dr Brian Hsu and Dr Bhisham Singh are attending the Scoliosis Research Society Asia Pacific Meeting in Fukuoka, Japan.

Dr Hsu will also moderate two sessions and present on 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗞𝘆𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗲: 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀, contributing to global discussions on complex spinal deformity care.

🩺 Advancing Surgical Skills Through Hands-On Training

Dr Brian Hsu recently led a cadaver training session at the UTS - University of Technology Sydney providing spine fellows with invaluable, practical experience in complex spinal anatomy and surgical techniques.

These sessions not only strengthen technical skill, but also foster the next generation of spine surgeons through mentorship, precision, and education.

A big thank you to UTS for supporting high-level surgical training and creating an environment where continuous learning thrives.

Dr Brian Hsu & Dr Bhisham Singh

Dr Hsu has been caring for patients with spinal disorders for more than 10 years in NSW. Dr Hsu’s areas of interest lie in all aspects of spine surgery and spinal disorders, in particular, adult and paediatric spine deformity, complex cervical reconstructions, spinal osteotomies and degenerative cervical and lumbar conditions.

Dr Singh has completed 10 years of advanced surgical training in orthopaedic surgery in both the UK and India, and completed further spinal surgery fellowship training with Dr Hsu. He is experienced in treating cervical thoracic and lumbar spine issues as well as orthopaedic conditions.
