We are delighted to introduce **Dr Yanez Peerbaccus**, an accomplished specialist with dual qualifications in **Gastroenterology and Hepatology**, as well as expertise in **Internal Medicine**. With over **20 years of medical experience**, Dr Peerbaccus brings exceptional knowledge, skill, and compassion to our community.

Dr Peerbaccus began his medical journey at the **University of Cape Town, South Africa**, graduating in 2005. He then pursued advanced specialist training in **New Zealand**, completing his fellowship in Auckland and being awarded the prestigious **Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP)** in 2018.

He has further refined his expertise through world-class international training, including:

On 31st January, we are delighted to welcome our interventional cardiologist to the TopDoctors team. He joins us from one of Queensland’s most prestigious cardiology centres, The Prince Charles Hospital, and brings exceptional expertise to provide our patients with the highest standard of care.🫀✨👨‍⚕️🏥

**GP referrals are required to see the cardiologist, and referrals from all medical centres are warmly welcomed.**

3 reminders:

1. We would like to remind everyone that a medicinal cannabis consultation does not guarantee a prescription. We require an assessment of patient eligibility based on the approved TGA medications they have tried for their medical conditions and failed. Unfortunately, some people think they can simply request medicinal cannabis; this is not how the process works. Medicinal cannabis is an unapproved TGA medication and requires patients to undergo multiple other medical approaches before they qualify. We should also emphasize that medicinal cannabis is not covered under the PBS. Therefore, although your consultation with us is fully bulk-billed as a private practice that bulk-bills medical consultations, when you go to the pharmacy, you will need to pay for the cost of medications based on different brands and prices.

2. We have a triage system in our booking process. We previously mentioned Dr. Arash's triage system a couple of months ago in one of our Facebook posts. Just a friendly reminder that Dr. Arash sees new patients; however, he has a three-week intake time. This allows him to have follow-ups and availability for his regular patients who are under his care. Although this might be inconvenient for some new patients, as a private outpatient setting, we prioritize standard care for our regular patients first.

3. We strive to maintain our standards as we grow, and we aim to have fewer changes in doctors to ensure stability of care. Sometimes, this is out of our control, as patient safety is our first priority. Please note that we are a private business founded and operated by individuals and their families. We are not supported by any government or sponsors. We take pride in being a private practice that offers fully bulk-billing services. It is common knowledge that we have limitations in a private outpatient setting in many aspects of helping our patients. While we do not seek praise, we do deserve respect.

As we approach New Year’s Eve 🎆, we’d like to share an update on our doctors’ availability over the holiday period:

🩺 Doctor Availability Updates

1️⃣ Dr. Arash will be available as usual.
2️⃣ Dr. Mario will be returning home and will resume work on Friday, January 2, 2026.
3️⃣ Dr. Dmitrii will be taking a few days off for New Year’s Day and will return refreshed on Monday next week.
4️⃣ Dr. Rishaal will be working tomorrow before heading off for a short holiday and will return on Monday.
5️⃣ Dr. Ruwandi is taking time off to study for her fellowship exams and will return on January 19 📚. We wish her every success—she truly deserves it and is an exceptionally hardworking and intelligent doctor.
6️⃣ Dr. Sreshta will be joining us on February 4, ready to meet our community at TD II 🎉—how exciting!
7️⃣ Our specialist team, including a well-known cardiologist from Brisbane ❤️, will be commencing with us in mid-January. Scheduling is currently being finalised, and we will update you as soon as start dates are confirmed.
