🐕 Slow Down ☀️

Life can get so busy that we forget to appreciate how lucky we truly are.

I’ll admit, I’m guilty of letting my mind race.

While walking along the beach with Sunny, my thoughts drift to my never ending to-do list, work tasks, unanswered emails, appointments to book, events to plan, scans to follow up on, reports to write. The list doesn’t and will never stop.

And then I see Sunny.

I’ve been watching him the whole time, but not really seeing him. You know what I mean - we all do it.

Sunny is chasing his ball, swimming in the waves, digging in the sand, and loving every single second. He’s the happiest he can be, simply enjoying the moment. He’s grateful for the freedom, the fun, his life.

Sunny reminds me to live in the moment, to be thankful for good health and loving family, and to slow down and enjoy right now.

Be like Sunny 🐕💚

Proud Physio Moment 🥇

A massive shoutout to Happi Physio’s sponsored athlete, Tom Franks, for an incredible performance at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in New Zealand over the weekend.

Tom proudly represented Australia, finishing 20th in his age group and an impressive 94th overall in the WORLD! 🌍🇦🇺

Overcoming an injury in the lead up to the event was already an amazing achievement, but what truly stood out was Tom’s composure during the race. After experiencing a technical issue on the bike, forcing an 8 minute stop, Tom stayed calm and focused, using our strategies to lower his heart rate and reset mentally; a true testament to his resilience and preparation.

Tom, your dedication to making every day an opportunity to improve is nothing short of inspiring. This is an incredible milestone, but we know it’s just the beginning. Keep pushing the limits! 💪🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️

We couldn’t be prouder ! 💚

📖 Must-Read Book: Extreme Ownership

Extreme Ownership is a powerful concept about taking full responsibility for every aspect of your life. No excuses, no blaming others. It’s about owning your actions, mistakes, feelings.. everything.

The idea is simple: when you embrace and accept ownership, you create a foundation to change your situation and grow. Instead of feeling stuck, you gain control and the ability to improve.

This approach applies to every area of life. Here are some examples:

• Not exercising enough?
It’s not because you don’t have time; it’s because you’re not prioritising it. Wake up 15 minutes earlier, stop making excuses, and start taking action.

• Arguing with your partner too often?
It takes two to argue. Take responsibility for your role. Listen more, communicate better, and help resolve the issue rather than fuel it.

• Feeling angry when kids don’t listen?
Your emotions are yours to control. Find strategies to manage frustration and guide them in a positive way.

• Sleep-deprived?
Instead of just enduring it, take ownership. Research ways to improve your sleep, build better habits, and make necessary changes.

• Don’t like your job?
Either find one you love or learn to love the one you have. Don’t settle for complaining, take steps to create a better reality.

• Your child is benched too much in sport?
It’s not just the coach’s fault or your child’s. Step up, practice with them, encourage hard work, and support their improvement. It’s your responsibility, own up to it.

• Someone speaks rudely to you?
You can’t always control others, but you can control your response. Either address it respectfully or let it go and move forward.

In every situation, Extreme Ownership gives you the tools to change, grow, and find solutions. It’s not about blaming yourself for everything, it’s about taking control of what you can change: your actions, your emotions, and your choices.

This mindset might seem harsh, but it’s empowering. When you take responsibility, you’ll solve problems more effectively, achieve your goals, and ultimately feel happier and healthier.

If you’re not satisfied with your life, whether it’s your health, relationships, or career - start practicing Extreme Ownership. Take action. You’re in control. 💪

Something that we think about a lot at Happi Physio that we assume everyone thinks about……. our health.

Your self is literally the only thing that you will own for your entire life. Houses move on. Cars are replaceable. Money will always be there.

Don’t get me wrong, there are other important things in the world, of course. Yourself, your body, your health is the most important. Without it, all those others are meaningless.

If you are guilty of spending too much time cleaning your house, washing your car and stressing about money but admit you aren’t healthy and aren’t happy with your body, then start getting your priorities right !

The crazy thing is. Prioritise your body and all the above comes easier too 🤷‍♂️

Sunny goes for runs daily, eats healthy (mostly 😅), sleeps adequately (plus some). Sunny is always happy. 🐕 😊

Work……

So often heard in a negative way. The word ‘work’ put in a positive sentence doesn’t sound right to many. Switching off from work, or leaving work at work seems like the right thing to do.

Why do we feel like this? Is work the issue? Or is the way we think about work the issue?

First definition you read when googling ‘work’ is:
activity involving mental or physical effort done in order to achieve a purpose or result.

Purpose. We love that word.

Work should be meaningful and have purpose. It doesn’t matter what you do, it has a role in society. Work is important to helping our communities run. Work doesn’t have to be stressful or a chore.

If you don’t like the work you do. In this circumstance I’m meaning the paid position of regular employment. If you don’t like it try changing the way you think about it. Find enjoyment in the work you do, because it has a purpose.

Once you can achieve this, then you will never feel the need to leave work at work or have to switch off from work. Work becomes an important part of your lives.

Don’t waste time. Time doing work that isn’t meaningful or purposeful. You don’t have to change the work you do….. change how you see the work.
