🌱 A New Chapter on the Write Path ✍️
Several years ago, I set out to create something simple yet powerful: a practical little guide to help people manage anxiety. Drawing on my experience as a psychologist, I wrote The Little Book of Anxiety Fixes: a pocket-sized collection of techniques people could keep close by and use anytime, anywhere.

What started as a small project has grown into something I’m truly proud of. Through word of mouth and support from pharmacies and readers, my books have reached thousands across Australia and beyond, even being translated into Spanish and French.

At its heart, my goal has always been to make mental health support accessible: something people can turn to in everyday life, whether at home, work, or on the go.

I’m grateful for the encouragement along the way, and excited to keep sharing tools that empower people to manage anxiety and stress.

📚 The Little Book of Anxiety Fixes and companion titles are now available in select pharmacies, bookstores, and online. Ask your local pharmacy if they have them! Stockists are on my website www.Lorrainecorne.com.au

A teen said to me today,”I wish I was born in the 70’s and then I would not have to be tied to my smart phone!”
How can we have smart phone time out? Here am I using it on a Sunday night!

It’s nearly spring and time to shake off those disappointments in the weather and seize the day.
‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’

So many of my friends have lost to
cancer. Do what you really want to do now. You will be so proud of yourself and the consequences are nothing like you imagined i.e bad. They may surprise you as much better than you expected.

Clearing out a 50 year old wardrobe (only used for 6years by myself and partner) to be demolished for a new one. Very cathartic during lockdown.

One of my clients once said to me
“I have never understood why women love cats. Cats are independent, they don’t listen, they don’t come in when you call, they like to stay out all night, and when they’re home they like to be left alone and sleep. In other words, every quality that women hate in a man they love in a cat!”

‘To be happy with a man you must understand him a lot and love him a little. To be happy with a woman you must love her a lot and not try to understand her at all.’

‘We come to love not by finding the perfect person but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly. ‘

Some pearls of wisdom that you may already know:
The Netflix show “13 Reasons Why” (released in March 2017) about a young woman who took her life, was associated with a 29% increase in suicides among US youth ages 10-17 in the month following the film’s release. This study was reported in the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. What your children watch is important to monitor.

Anger harms health in oldest adults: Anger may be more harmful to an older person’s physical health than sadness, and that may be due to anger leading to increases in inflammation, according to a study in Psychology and Aging. Anger may be problematic in older seniors whose challenges may be insurmountable.

High social class breeds confidence: People who identify as part of a higher social class tend to have an exaggerated belief in their own capabilities, having an overconfidence that is often misinterpreted by others as greater competence. This is from a study in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. They are also rated more highly for hiring.
