Big Fig Arts Inc. Big Fig Arts is an artist run initiative organizing creative workshops, exhibitions and classes.

Big Fig Arts is an artist run association hosting creative workshops, community projects and a program of diverse and inclusive exhibitions in Bellingen. Big Fig Arts hosts exhibitions of works by local and further afield artists, local indigenous artists and artists with a disability. The exhibitions show at The Bellingen Brewery & Co., a venue that functions as the public face of this arts project and is home to Bellingen's local craft brewery and boutique bar. Big Fig Arts views their project as the creation of an alternative and accessible art space in Bellingen that engages with the community in a new way. They plan for the exhibitions, workshops and other events they host to build their reputation as an engaging and contemporary small arts association. Their aim is to become a viable and dynamic non-profit organisation that promotes these passions.

Come along to this FREE Festival Decor Making Workshop and make art with us to decorate the amazing festival! All levels of ability and experience are welcome and it’s 12+ age. You will work with 2 professional artists to bring lots of creative ideas to life that will then be used at the festival to make it look superb! Bring your own ideas and skills to contribute and be part of a cool festival crew. Held at Nambucca Valley Phoenix in Bowraville on Thursday 29th January 9-3pm or pop in for a few hours if that suits you. We have a great river/aquatic theme and lots of materials. You will learn new skills and get to be part of this exciting festival. Class is fully inclusive. We start the year off with our popular Colour Linoprint Workshop. Held on Saturday 24th January from 10-1pm at the Bellingen Stables. $65 with all instructions and materials supplied so you can turn your ideas and drawings into a small suite of fine art prints ready for framing. Join experienced artist printmaker Marc Renshaw in this fun and inclusive workshop and learn the art of linoprint in full colour. All levels of experience and ability are welcome as we will guide you through the process in this small sized class. Our next printmaking workshop is Intaglio Etching. This technique is over 500 years old and is a fantastic deep dive into the print medium. Ages 12+ and all levels of experience are welcome to attend. We will instruct you from your own drawings and designs into making fine art etchings. You will learn how to design and etch your imagery onto metal plates, ink them up and then the timeless art of turning them into prints using light and shade and the etching press to create your artworks. We use high quality art materials and you’ll have full instruction from experienced artist Marc Renshaw. All materials are supplied $110. Small class size.
