UNDERSTANDING EFFECTIVE PAIN RELIEF
Many people in pain are not aware of the importance of treating the hidden causes of pain - which is the best way to achieve long lasting relief (better than just trying to suppress the symptoms by taking multiple cortisone shots, and tons of harsh pain killers for only temporary relief). Acupuncture, Massage, Shiatsu and Yoga offer an effective alternative way to relieve many causes of pain. By focusing on the underlying causes of pain, many patients report significant and longer lasting relief after the first visit. Common Pain Conditions: Lower Back Pain Pinched Nerve Neck or Cervical Pain Frozen Shoulder Muscle Knots Hand & Arm Numbness Leg Numbness Fibromyalgia Sciatica & Sciatic Pain Headaches & Migraines Tendonitis Tennis and Golfer’s Elbow Leg Cramps Myofascial pain syndrome Sports Injuries Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Carpal Tunnel Finger Tingling Pulled Hamstring Finger Tingling Hip Pain Heel Spur Planter Fasciitis

MATT'S CLINICAL APPROACH
The secret to effectively alleviating pain may involve combining numerous holistic therapies, such as acupuncture, cupping, massage, shiatsu, or yoga stretches - even in one treatment session. This unique approach allows discovery of the underlying hidden causes of pain and thus provides a much longer lasting relief. Many common types of pain, such as frozen shoulder, knee pain, and sciatica, are caused by numerous musculoskeletal disorders. Inflammation, scar tissues, poor blood circulation, fibromyalgia and nutrition deficiency are typical conditions that cause pain in joints, ligaments and muscles. For example, “frozen shoulder” is caused by a variety of inflammation that results in upper arm pain and limited range of motion. An effective treatment must eliminate the inflammation of tissue and also thicken synovial fluid in order to rejuvenate the injured area for long lasting relief. ACUPUNCTURE BENEFITS INNER SYSTEM
Acupuncture is a wonderfully effective healing system involving inserting thin disposable needles into the body at precise points (acupoints) to unblock the Qi that travel up and down the body over 29 meridians. Acupuncture sends pain relieving chemicals and oxygenated blood to the injury so the body can start to repair itself. Toxins and scar tissues that built up around the injured area can be carried away by improved blood circulation. Furthermore, it stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system to release endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. These natural chemicals calm areas of the brain that register pain and activate the parts involved in rest and recuperation. REGULAR CUPPING FOR A HEALTHY LIFE
For thousands of years the Chinese, Europeans and many other cultures have used therapeutic cupping for asthma, fever, congestion and chronic or acute pain. Cupping treatments help promote healthy blood circulation, reduce inflammation, and release tight muscles. The suction created by this seal helps to mobilise blood flow, freeing any areas that have become stagnant. Cupping also pulls toxins and pathogens to the surface of the body where our immune system works best in eliminating these unwanted materials from our body. ZEN SHIATSU BENEFITS MUSCULOSKELETAL SYSTEM
Shiatsu applies deep but gentle pressure to muscle tissues, facia and lower layer ligaments in order to rejuvenate the musculoskeletal system. Similarly, acupoints are often nerve fiber branching points and muscle trigger points. When precisely massaged with the right level of pressure, shiatsu can effectively relax the muscle tension, increase blood flow in treated areas, and subside inflammation. The two approaches work hand in hand to maximize body’s self-healing mechanism, brining the most benefits to pain patients. For all Bookings: phone 0427539382 or email mrsincock@icloud.com.au

ABOUT MATT
Matt Sincock is a professional health therapist. He is a registered practitioner of acupuncture, Remedial Massage, Shiatsu, Yoga, Martial Arts and First Aid Training. He runs a busy practice in Bellingen specialising in treating people suffering chronic health problems. Matt began his studies with an okido yoga teacher, Michael Wynne, in 1991. The natural simplicity and wisdom of oriental medicine was the first thing to make sense in Matt’s life, and he studied with Michael for three years. Michael’s style of teaching involved trekking deep into the wilderness for 7-10 days at a time, carrying only a yoga mat and a backpack full of macrobiotic food! It is during this time he began in-depth studies of yoga, zen shiatsu, and qigong. Matt went on to professionally study remedial massage, zen shiatsu, advanced neurological acupuncture, martial arts, and qigong,

In 2010, Matt became one of the founding members of a Community Acupuncture and Shiatsu clinic in Bellingen, offering low cost treatments to the community. In 2012, he established the Australian College of Eastern Medicine in Bellingen, a registered training organisation (RTO) teaching Diploma courses in Remedial Massage and Zen Shiatsu. Matt teaches regular yoga classes, which help to create the space to feel a joy for life and an opportunity for self-healing

Matt Sincock also teaches workshops, courses and retreats throughout the year. For more details, call Matt on 0427539382 or visit www.lifeyoga.com.au

A good article on our modern lifestyle imbalances and using theraputic touch to readjust our body-mind.
“Shiatsu is a form of massage. But in Shiatsu, it’s all about the type and quality of touch. Shiatsu touches not only the body, but always the whole person. Every touch follows the breath, feels, senses, hears between the lines. Shiatsu practitioners experience every day how people can regain access to themselves through this special form of mindful touch and how this can initiate a healing process on all levels. This is not a technique—it is relationship in motion”

Cross training between Qigong and Chinese brush painting.
This is a painting I did at Camp Creative Chinese brush painting class this year, after a ten minute lesson.
Stephen, a very experienced Chinese Brush Painter, teacher, and a wonderful man, asked our Qigong class to share some Qigong practices with his students, as they were trying to learn to use their whole of their body & mind for each individual brush stroke.
In turn, they shared their techniques of simple movements to create harmony.
All my Qigong students did a painting and surprised themselves with the beauty of the result.
I love the places of cross-overs, where the inner workings of artistic practices intersect.

What an extraordinary week teaching Qigong & Shiatsu at Camp Creative.
In the morning, I taught the Da Yan Wild Goose Qigong form, cultivating peace & harmony… learning the 27 gentle movements so well that each person finished the week with a complete practice they could take home with them. Thursday’s rain made us miss performing in the park, but we found a public space to practice in anyway on Friday.
In the afternoon, I taught a Mindfulness and the art of Zen Shiatsu. I taught specific techniques to deepen the sense of touch and mindfulness, in the way of the revered blind Shiatsu practitioners in Japan.
In fact on the last day, we practiced performing Shiatsu wearing a blindfold, to help everyone focus on their other senses.
Thank you Camp Creative for another year of a well organised learning festival.
What I really love about Camp Creative is people coming together to learn something new and celebrate their new skills. In the spirit of learning, all efforts are applauded, because the importance is placed on developing and growing, rather than on an impatient expectation of perfection.
What a positive week 🙏

Love learning new things, deepening knowledge, and transforming it into somatic experiences.
In sunny Brisbane now with Master acupuncturist, Jeff Shearer, at his acupuncture workshop.
Jeff shares a similar background to me… we both started in Remedial Massage over 30 years ago, in the early 90s… sharing some of the same acupuncture teachers…
I really enjoyed Jeff’s prospective and insights on the somatic experiences of acupuncture, and his ability to hold onto the other end of the needle and feel into what is happening for the patient… at last, I found someone else I can talk about this strange phenomenon.
Things they no longer teach at universities.
Thank you Jeff for following the path down the rabbit hole and sharing your experiences with others. I love the teachers who do not hide their knowledge but feel compelled to share it with others... because it is profound and needs to be out there transforming people's lives.
Also inspiring to connect with Richard, who I studied acupuncture with back in 2010. Richard and I have both come a long way since our initial training with Tom Ebejer, but arrived at a similar place in treatment styles and our ability to help bring about change in people's health.
