Why stretch your Pectoral Muscles? Stretching your pectoral (pec) muscles is important for improving chest flexibility, correcting poor posture, reducing shoulder tightness, and preventing upper body injuries. We tend to work with our hands in front of us, especially if you work on the computer/laptop a lot. This stretch helps open the whole chest area along with pushing back your shoulders so you are not as hunched over.

Stand in an open doorway, raise one arm (or both arms if the doorway isn't too large) to 90 degrees with palm facing forward. Slowly step forward with one foot, leaning into the stretch through your pecs. Hold this stretch for 15 seconds and relax. Repeat to the other side is only stretching one side at a time.

The adductor muscles are often forgotten about so it is important to stretch them.

I've had to change to stick figure drawings as my wooden doll model doesn't have the flexibility of doing the butterfly stretch, no adduction movement at the hips 😂😂. So, I hope you understand my drawing - sitting on the floor with the soles of your feet together, knees bent out to the side. Gentle push your knees to the floor.

2. Lower Back Pain - Because tight hamstrings pull on the pelvis, they can cause the pelvis to tilt backward, which puts extra stress on the lower back and can lead to pain or discomfort.
3. Poor Posture - Tight hamstrings can contribute to poor posture by restricting proper pelvic positioning and spinal alignment.
