On behalf of everyone at Aaquila Care, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every person who contributed to our Dignity Bag Project in recognition of International Women’s Day.
Because of your kindness, generosity, and community spirit, we were able to prepare 22 dignity bags filled with essential items for women facing homelessness. In addition to the bags, we also received many extra items and a wonderful collection of clothing.
These bags represent so much more than toiletries and everyday necessities. For women experiencing homelessness, receiving a dignity bag can mean comfort, relief, and a reminder that they are seen, valued, and cared for. It can restore a sense of dignity during what may be one of the most challenging times in their lives.
Your contributions helped create something truly meaningful. Each donated item, each act of generosity, and each show of support made a real difference. Together, we have not only provided practical support but also shared compassion and hope with women who need it most.
International Women’s Day is a time to recognise the strength and resilience of women everywhere, and thanks to you, we were able to honour that spirit in a tangible and impactful way.
From all of us at Aaquila Care and Homeless Healthcare, thank you for standing with us and for helping bring dignity, comfort, and kindness to women and families in our community.
With sincere appreciation,
The Aaquila Care Team

On Monday 09/03, we originally planned to cook the special French Quiche Lorraine.

However, the baking time is at least 50 minutes and time is precious during our cooking group, so we were unable to make this recipe.

Instead, we changed the plan and made a special Ratatouille. It is a low-cost dish, very healthy, and amazing for your gut.

When preparing this dish, you usually make a large batch, so it’s a great idea to freeze some for later. It can also be served on bread as a delicious aperitif when you have guests.

We look forward to seeing you next week for cheesy honey garlic butter chicken pasta.

Don’t forget:
Bring your own apron if you wish
Enclosed shoes are mandatory
Bring a container for leftovers

See you next week!

Aaquila Care International Women’s Day

What a wonderful and memorable day we shared celebrating International Women’s Day with our incredible community.

We were honoured to spend the day surrounded by our participants, families, staff, and valued stakeholders, coming together to recognise and celebrate the strength, resilience, and contributions of women in our community.

The day was filled with laughter, connection, and celebration. From our vibrant fashion show, to inspiring talks, and of course plenty of delicious food, it was truly a joyful gathering for everyone involved.

Events like this remind us how powerful it is when a community comes together to support, uplift, and celebrate one another.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and contributed to making the day such a success. Your presence made the celebration even more meaningful.

At Aaquila Care, we remain committed to fostering inclusion, empowerment, and community connection every day.

✨ Together we celebrate women. Together we build stronger communities.

We finally finished our Australia Day Art Representation.

We used colors that we feel represent Australia with lines and dots showing connection between people.

We added meaningful words that are important to us.

Last week in art we learned about Chinese New Year. This year is the Year of the Horse 🐎, which represents energy, strength, and freedom.

We also explored how using recycled materials can be a fantastic way to create art while helping the environment. ♻️

To be continued this week! 🎨
