A gluten-free diet can help with endometriosis, but it’s important to focus on whole, nutrient-dense foods. Many gluten-free processed foods are low in essential nutrients, high in unhealthy fats and sugars, and can contribute to inflammation.

To truly benefit from a gluten-free diet, it’s crucial to choose high-quality, balanced foods that reduce inflammation and support your overall health and fertility. 🌿💪

Gut-Fertility-Inflammation Connection: Could gluten sensitivity be affecting your fertility?

If you experience symptoms of Non-Coeliac Gluten Sensitivity (NCGS), like bloating, brain fog, or fatigue, you might not realise how it could be impacting your fertility. While NCGS doesn’t cause the autoimmune damage seen in coeliac disease, it can still contribute to chronic inflammation and gut health issues that may disrupt hormone balance and reproductive health.

Chronic inflammation & fertilityWhen your body reacts negatively to gluten, it can lead to ongoing inflammation, a major player in fertility struggles. Inflammation can:
❌ Disrupt ovulation
❌ Interfere with implantation
❌ Affect progesterone levels, which are essential for a healthy pregnancy

Gut health & hormone balanceYour gut is deeply connected to your hormones. If NCGS contributes to gut permeability (leaky gut), it may impair nutrient absorption and create immune responses that affect fertility.

What Can You Do?
✔️ Work with a practitioner (like me!) to optimise your diet for fertility

Have you noticed changes in your cycle, mood, or digestion after removing gluten? I’d love to hear your experience.

Is gluten affecting your health… but you don’t have coeliac disease? 🚨

You might have Non-Coeliac Gluten Sensitivity (NCGS). It’s often misunderstood, but here’s what you need to know. ⬇️

What is NCGS?NCGS is a condition where people experience symptoms after consuming gluten, but they do not have coeliac disease or a wheat allergy. It’s often overlooked because there are no specific biomarkers to diagnose it—meaning it can only be identified through elimination and symptom tracking.

NCGS vs. Coeliac Disease
✅ NCGS: No damage to the small intestine, but symptoms occur after gluten consumption.❌ Coeliac Disease: An autoimmune condition where gluten triggers an immune response that damages the gut lining.

Symptoms of NCGSMany symptoms of NCGS overlap with coeliac disease, including:
* Bloating, nausea, and digestive discomfort
* Fatigue and brain fog
* Joint pain
* Headaches
* Anxiety or mood swings
* Skin issues (eczema, rashes)

How is it diagnosed?There’s no formal test for NCGS. If coeliac disease and wheat allergy are ruled out but gluten still causes symptoms, an elimination diet and symptom tracking are the best ways to confirm NCGS.

Is gluten preventing you from conceiving?
Did you know that conditions like Coeliac disease or gluten sensitivity can affect your fertility? When someone with Coeliac disease consumes gluten, it can damage the small intestine, leading to nutrient deficiencies that disrupt hormonal balance, ovulation, and s***m production. Even if you don’t have Coeliac disease, gluten sensitivity can contribute to inflammation and gut health issues, which can also impact reproductive health.

To learn more about the link between gluten and fertility and how a gluten-free diet may help, read my full blog post on my website.
If you’re ready to take the next step, book a consultation to discuss how a high-quality gluten-free diet could support your reproductive health and conception journey!

The lifestyle choices you make before pregnancy can have a significant impact on your risk of developing gestational diabetes (GDM).

According to a recent study published in Diabetes & Metabolic Syndrome: Clinical Research & Reviews, factors like physical activity, nutrition, and weight management play key roles in reducing the likelihood of GDM.
By adopting healthy habits like regular exercise, a balanced, whole-foods diet, and maintaining a healthy weight, you can set yourself up for a healthier pregnancy. 🌱

The study emphasises the importance of preconception care in preventing GDM, making it clear that your habits today influence your pregnancy tomorrow.
It’s never too early to start, small changes now can lead to a healthier, happier pregnancy down the road! Have you thought about seeing a dietitian to help with preconception care? Feel free to send me a message to chat further!

Why Omega-3 Matters for Fertility, Pregnancy, and Baby’s Development
Omega-3 fatty acids, especially DHA and EPA, are essential at every stage—from preconception to pregnancy and beyond.

Preconception: Supports egg and s***m quality, balances hormones, and reduces inflammation for optimal fertility.
Pregnancy: Crucial for baby’s brain and eye development, lowers the risk of preterm birth, and supports maternal mental health.
Baby’s Growth: Aids in cognitive development, memory formation, and motor skills, laying the foundation for lifelong brain health.

Include plenty of omega-3-rich foods like salmon, sardines, flaxseeds, chia seeds, and walnuts in your diet to support a healthy pregnancy and baby.

Want to know if you’re getting enough omega-3 for fertility and pregnancy? DM Marchini Nutrition to learn more!
