Allied Health Professions Day was first held in England in 2018 and is now an international event held annually on 14 October, celebrating and bringing together the allied health professional community.

This year the main theme ‘Stronger together’, highlights the benefits of multidisciplinary team-based care. While it is well known that allied health professionals play a key role in the health and wellbeing of all Australians, health system reform is finally recognising the value, both economic and clinical, of multidisciplinary care.

It is vital that allied health professionals are recognised alongside their nursing and medical colleagues for their role in designing and implementing a comprehensive healthcare system, that truly wraps around the consumer.

Benalla Health has a fantastic team of Allied Health staff and we encourage you to join us in supporting AHP’s Day 2025 and raise awareness of the allied health sector. To find out more about the Allied Health Services we offer visit benallahealth.org.au

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY

The objective of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilise efforts in support of mental health.

Self-care isn’t about getting it right every time. It’s about making space for yourself in the middle of a demanding day. it’s easy to overlook the everyday actions that support your own wellbeing.

This checklist is here to help you notice the kinds of self-care that often go unseen. Things like staying hydrated, stepping outside for a few minutes, checking in with a colleague, or taking a moment to breathe. These may not seem like traditional self-care, but they matter. You don’t need to do everything at once.

Just choose one thing each day that helps you feel a little more balanced. That’s enough. That’s self-care.
