Thankyou and Happy Birthing Days!

In this season of my life, I am unable to continue offering Calmbirth with Sheridan.

Special thanks to my always supportive hubby, all of the beautiful couples and pregnant mamas that trusted me to provide their birth education, and everyone who recommended Calmbirth with Sheridan.

Thanks to RubyBlue Cafe, Stuck on Stationary and the incredible Boho CFA for supporting me.

I'll be back spreading the joy of birth and Calmbirth one day but in the interim I can't wait to return from maternity leave and get back to the front line; walking alongside women... hands on bellies... meeting new little people on their birthday...helping parents continue their transition into parenthood.

Women and babies are magic 💖

🤍 Because 1:3 women in Australia describe their birth as traumatic
🤍 Because 1:10 women in Australia describe experiencing obstetric violence
🤍 Because 24% of women in Australia have an episiotomy/cut made to their perineum
🤍 Because 8% of women have access to continuity of midwifery carer models
🤍 Because intervention and trauma in maternity is increasing and stillbirth rate remains unchanged.
🤍 Because worldwide 900,000 more midwives are needed to keep mothers and babies safe
🤍 Because our sisters are having caesarean births without anaesthesia and unable to breastfeed due to malnutrition from gen*cide

Today is a reminder of the trauma, discrimination, inequalities and oppression women experience - including within our maternity system. Shout out to those who pour their blood, sweat and tears into advocating for our birthing mummas and community. We need you and thankyou 💖

We need days like IWD to remind us that our birth rights are human rights, our health rights are human rights, and womens rights are human rights.
