Carers & Parents Support Group Inc (CPSG) is a not for profit organization run by a Committee of Management consisting of volunteer Carers and Parents of Adults with an Intellectual Disability &/or Dual Disabilities. CPSG administration will screen all 'new members' to ensure the group remain secure and safe. If you wish to join PLEASE MESSAGE CPSG mobile 0409 167 037 explaining who you are and why you wish to join before requesting to join - without this information you will not be added. Due to varying security settings and messages going to the 'others' folders instead of inboxes, CPSG have found in the past that messaging to prospective members is difficult. For the protection of our group’s privacy, CPSG has stringent criteria when accepting new members onto the CPSG page. If you have a friend that would like to be a member of CPSG you are welcome to add them, however CPSG will be ensuring that each person is genuine and that they have a family member with a disability. CPSG will not accept new members who cannot be messaged to ask questions that will clarify if they are genuine. If you have requested to join CPSG and we have not accepted your request, please message our mobile (0409 167 037) to clarify your connection. CPSG ADMININISTRATION RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE MEMBERSHIP OR TERMINATE MEMBERSHIP TO ANY MEMBER ON CPSG FACEBOOK PAGE. THIS GROUP IS MODERATED AND WILL BE MODERATING CONTENT THAT DOES NOT FIT WITH OUR ETHOS OF "SHARING IS CARING" OR CPSG’S CODE OF CONDUCT. Caring and sharing of information is to be encouraged and member’s safety and privacy is our primary concern so any membership requests that will cause conflict or unsafe feelings for a current member will not be accepted. CPSG will not tolerate any debates to be carried out on CPSG page, our intention is to unite the group and debates will only divide a group. Please be aware that this page is NOT a professional site, we are a carers support group and do not offer expert advice or qualified information. Carer and Parent peers will offer encouragement, listening and sharing stories, and do NOT substitute for seeking professional mental or health care advice and services. CPSG would like to encourage you to keep sharing and listening as this group is invaluable in what it offers and a shared experience often reduces frustrations and ultimately you will be supporting each other. Understand the advice you are receiving from each other is only advice, and that it is up to each individual to seek professional assistance if the need arises. CPSG as administrators cannot check all postings and some may in fact be incorrect, inaccurate or misleading. Be aware if you do message CPSG administration your concerns may be discussed within the trusted administration team and your Privacy and Confidentiality is most important to us. All decisions and concerns will remain objective and fair, and issues dealt with in a confidential manner.
