Hello! My name is Jess and I am a student Doula training with the Australian Doula College and I am located in Bendigo, Victoria. I am seeking families with a new addition on the way that may be looking for some extra care and support throughout their pregnancy and birth journey.
For those who are not aware of what a Doula is, a Doula is a professional Birth Worker who offers consistent support and care to the whole family during all aspects of a pregnancy, including before, during, and after baby arrives. Whether you want a hospital birth with all the drugs under the sun, a natural home birth or anything in between, a Doula will be there to support you no matter what!
I am offering a Pregnancy and Post-Partum package with everything included in the image for the amazing price of $407 (paid to the college to cover my training costs).

Yes! So many wonderful points on why estimated due dates are purely a guess and should never be taken as gospel! As long as mumma and baby are both happy and healthy there is no need to do anything apart from letting nature work it’s magic x

Where is My Baby? Why haven't I had my baby yet??

Have you reached 'full term' at 38 weeks, or maybe you've reached what people call your Estimated Due Date (EDD) at 40 weeks and still you don't see any sign of your baby.

I know mumma, the days are long and anxiety is real!

You're doing everything in your power to 'naturally induce Labour' , and you are SO SICK of the constant questions from your family and friends..

Are you still pregnant?
When are you due?
Are you getting induced?
Wow, you are looking huge!

day in and day out all that comes to your mind is
"When am I going into labour and where is my baby??"

An EDD (Estimated Due Date) is exactly that! An ESTIMATE of when your bubba may enter the world, It is not uncommon to go beyond your due date. Infact most woman birth after 40 weeks with most at 41!

There are many reasons why you haven't got any signs of labour,
*Baby just isn't ready yet,

*Baby's lungs need a few more days to develop

*You are a little stressed, creating anxiety and adrenaline, which causes the hormone oxytocin to not rise.

*Your body is slowly dialating with no to little pain, which is actually less work!

*The position of your baby isn't yet optimal (there are many very easy positions that you can get into that can make a huge difference to where your baby is positioned in your pelvis) and sometimes this is the thing that gets it all started!

Although the time waiting is frustrating and can cause a little stress and anxiety,
Take a breath, a break and chill out! Do something for yourself.

*Put on some music, and have a dance,

*Have a warms shower, go on your knees and invison labouring

*Sit in the showered or in a comfortable place, and express or stimulate your ni***es

* Have a good laugh

*Forget about the house an watch a movie, or even some birth videos!

*Call your Doula, and have them spend time with you and help you get into those positions
.
Breathe. Relax. Be patient, not long untill you are holding your baby in your arms!

What a damn blessing it was to spend the morning being witness to the wonders of the placenta and being shown how to prep this magical organ for all kinds of uses, particularly encapsulation! Big thanks to .doula for organising everything and to for being the incredibly inspiring teacher she is 💕✨🙌🏻
ps the snacks were left in place for the pic because the juxtaposition was hilarious, and were moved before work began 😅

Finally got my fliers and business cards delivered and they look wonderful 😍 Now I just need to order some brochures and wait for COVID to calm its t**s so I can get out there and start spreading my joy for this amazing work with the world! 💕

Hello, my friends!

As you may have heard, I am currently in training to become a Doula 💕
I hear a lot of people ask “what the heck even is a Doula?” 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏼 Well, a doula is a support person who works with women and their families during their reproductive journeys, giving emotional and physical support, wisdom, reassurance, and presence. In short, I will be there for you and your family to provide support, education, and comfort during some of the greatest transitions of your lives ☺️

Now, as part of my training I need to be in attendance as a Student Doula for 3 seperate families, at least 2 of which need to be full birth packages. And this is where you wonderful people come in! I need some lovely pregnant people and their families who would allow me the honour of attending their births or post-partum experiences so that I can learn and flourish and serve! (oh and ps, you’ll get an unbelievably amazing price for the whole package! 🙌🏼)

The Labour Package includes -
✨ Obligation free first meeting to make sure we vibe!
✨ 3 x 3 hour Prenatal visits where we go over your plans, hopes, fears, and desires for your birth experience.
✨ I am on call for you from the minute you go 38 weeks until bubs decides they’re ready to join the world.
✨ Once you go into labour I will be there as soon as you need me to be and I won’t leave until bubs has been welcomed to the world and your new family is happy, healthy, and settled together.
✨ 2 x 4 hour Post natal visits, where we will chat, debrief, go over any questions or curiosities you might have, and if you want a shower or a relaxing bath while I’m there I’ll happily hang out with bubs and I can get some cleaning done, prepare a meal for the family, do some laundry, or whatever else you might need that day while you chill.

The Post Natal Package includes -
✨ 6 x 4 hour Post natal visits, where we will chat, debrief, go over any questions or curiosities you might have, and if you want a shower or a relaxing bath while I’m there I’ll happily hang out with bubs and I can get some cleaning done, prepare a meal for the family, do some laundry, or whatever else you might need that day while you chill.

What I need from you -
✨ Your openness and honesty.
✨ To remember that I am a student and am still finding my feet, but trust in that I will do everything in my power to give you the experience you want.
✨ Estimated due date no earlier than October.
✨ Live or planning to give birth within an hour from Bendigo.

This past weekend was spent with my Doula-in-training sisters and what a magical time it was ✨
We laughed, cried, shared our souls, and learnt more than I think any of us thought possible. I cannot thank our amazing trainer, Ash, enough for all the wisdom and support she provided for us 💕
The fire in my belly has been stoked, the passion for this work is overflowing, my future is bright, and I am ready for it all 🙌🏼

Hello, my dears! ✨
I thought it high time that I introduce myself now that I am about to begin this amazing journey of becoming a Doula!
My name is Jess and I’m a 28 year old Sagittarius. I’ve been with my wonderful partner, Chris, since 2013 and I’ve lived in Bendigo, VIC my whole life. I’m a feline fanatic who loves nothing more than a cold rainy day and a warm milo.
My whole life I’ve had a deep instinct and drive to support people. I was the one who always had the shoulder to cry on, the listening ear, and the comforting hug, ready and willing at the drop of a hat.
I’ve also always loved babies. I’ve been told by more people than I can count that I have a natural way with little ones. While I don’t have any of my own yet, I’ve seen many friends and family members go through the amazing transition to parenthood. My soul gets absolutely flushed with joy whenever I get to see and hold a new little bundle of light.
It took me a long time to decide what I wanted to be when I grew up and it was quite literally an explosive epiphany that brought becoming a Doula to the forefront of my mind and I can honestly say nothing has ever felt so right. I feel it in my bones, in the deepest parts of my very being. I know this is what I am meant to do.
Words can’t describe how ecstatic I am to begin my journey. I’m beyond excited to be able to look after you and your families during the most transformative period of your lives, but in the meantime I invite you along with me as I learn and grow and flourish!
