This week we hosted our third and final LGBTIQA+ community wood-working session for 2025! Many keen first-timers (and seasoned pros!) joined us to try something different, connect with the LGBTIQA+ community and explore a fun and engaging form of creative expression in a safe and affirming space, co-facilitated by Thorne Harbour Country and the Salvation Army. Keep your eyes tuned for future events like this!

💫 We are looking for adults who identify as LGBTQA+ living in the City of Greater Bendigo to join our community research project

💫 We would like to understand the physical activity and active recreation experiences of LGBTQA+ adults living in the City of Greater Bendigo.

💫 We are inviting adults (at least 18 years) who:
🟢 Identify as LGBTQA+
🟢 Live in the City of Greater Bendigo
🟢 Has access to a personal mobile phone

💫 This is a project that aims to make community spaces more inclusive and safer for LGBTQA+ residents
As part of the community research group, you'll:
🟢 Snap photos of places in your area that support or stop you from being active
🟢 Then join us and others (in person or on Zoom) to discuss your photos, experiences, and possible solutions to challenges you face while being active

We are seeking a motivated and community-minded Community Development Worker to join our team in Bendigo. This is an exciting opportunity to support the health, wellbeing, and connection of LGBTIQ+ communities and people living with HIV (PLHIV) across the Loddon Mallee region.

Based in Bendigo, Thorne Harbour Country provides regional services and support to LGBTIQ+ people and PLHIV across the Loddon Mallee. Our work includes counselling and therapeutic services, AOD support, peer and community groups, health promotion, HIV and Hepatitis C education, and a range of community development initiatives. We strive to create safer, more connected, and more inclusive regional communities.
