I will be back to full swing at the clinic Thursday after navigating yet another lockdown. Lets hope its our last 🤞. Meanwhile here's an earlier snapshot of me scanning a client's feet for their custom made 3D printed orthotics. The result is lightweight yet durable custom foot orthotics with excellent rebound properties 👣.

VIC LOCKDOWN UPDATE

Fingers crossed🤞I am planning to see my already scheduled clients on Thursday 18 Feb when the 5 day lockdown has finished. During the current stage 4 restrictions all Allied Health practitioners in private practice are not deemed an essential service and are unable to see clients face to face. I will be in touch with clients who may be affected for rescheduling if the lockdown extends. For now lets hope its just 5 days🤞Thank you for your patience and support 💙 👣

🤔HEEL SPURS 👣

The warmer weather often results in people being more physically active. This means we see an increased amount of overuse injuries. The most common being HEEL PAIN 🚫 🦶

Despite popular belief, SPURS are often a byproduct of stress and less so the cause of heel symptoms 🤔🤷‍♀️

🧐Heel spurs develop due to repetitive plantar fascial stress at its attachment point on the base of the calcaneus (heel bone). In response to this trauma the body re-models the bone in an attempt to strengthen the area 💪, creating a spur. Large heel spur's can be found on Xrays even in those without any symptoms 🔎

One cause of heel pain is in response to the micro-tearing 🔬of the plantar fascia itself 😖 It's important to find and address the cause of this stress on the plantar fascia, in order to gain long-term relief 🦶😁
