Today, we celebrate Easter Sunday - a day of hope, renewal, and new life.

As we reflect on the resurrection of Christ, we are reminded that even in the most difficult moments, there is always the promise of light, healing, and new beginnings.

Across our hospital, we see this spirit every day - in the care we provide, the strength of our patients, and the compassion of our staff.

Wishing our community a peaceful and joyful Easter. 🌿✝️

Today, on Good Friday, we pause to reflect on sacrifice, compassion, and hope.

As we remember the passion of Christ, we are reminded of the importance of caring for others with kindness, dignity, and love - values that guide us every day in our hospital community.

We hold in our thoughts all patients, families, and staff, especially those experiencing hardship or loss at this time.

May this day bring quiet reflection and peace. ✝️

✨Meet Nikki and her incredible Call Centre team at St John of God Health Care.👋

Based in Bendigo, this dedicated team manages room service orders for patients across 8 hospitals, handling an impressive 2,000–3,500 calls every day. In February alone, they answered 88,000 calls, with an average pick-up time of just 15 seconds… seriously impressive 👏

Starting as a team of just three, they’ve grown to 15 dedicated staff, now managing calls from 6:30am through to 8:00pm - a huge win for Bendigo, especially considering the East hospital calls were originally set to be handled by a Melbourne-based call centre.

They also go beyond the phones, supporting 20–30 patients daily who can’t place orders themselves, ensuring everyone is cared for and heard. And with mobile meal ordering launching next month across Ballarat, Geelong, Berwick and Bendigo, they’re continuing to evolve the patient experience.

Nikki says her team prides itself on working as one, with a strong focus on customer service - making sure every patient feels listened to and supported.

And it’s the little moments that mean the most… when a patient calls back and remembers their name, or continues a conversation from earlier in the day.
Because sometimes, it’s more than just a call… it’s comfort on the other end of the line.

Thank you for everything you do - your care makes a difference every single day. 🧡

🌿We are proud to announce that Reflections at Eppalock, an initiative of Dementia Alliance, is St John of God Bendigo Hospital’s Community Partner for 2026. 🌿

Following our launch on Tuesday, our caregiver community has already raised $1,300 to support this remarkable community space.

Overlooking Lake Eppalock, Reflections at Eppalock is more than a destination - it is a place of connection, creativity and calm. Created as a haven for people living with dementia, carers, families and the wider community, it invites visitors to pause, reflect and reconnect with nature and one another.

Across the grounds, thoughtfully designed spaces blend art, nature and creativity, offering visitors moments of calm, reflection and connection. With sensory experiences, community-crafted artworks and areas for conversation and growth, Reflections at Eppalock nurtures wellbeing, sparks joy, and gently awakens memory.

Reflections at Eppalock continues to evolve through the hands and hearts of the community - a place of learning, healing and belonging.

We look forward to supporting this inspiring initiative throughout 2026 and helping its story continue to grow.
