MEDIA UPDATE β TODAYβ¨
Merryn (DSN Support Coordinator) and parent carer Bridgette were interviewed by WIN News to speak openly about one of the biggest issues facing the NDIS right now:
Participant safeguarding.
Across the country, participants are being left underfunded, unsafe, and unsupported because of systemic failures from reports not being read, diagnoses not being recorded correctly, οΏΌto critical incidents not being recorded by providers, support workers without clinical oversight, and more! Changes need to happen.
Internal reviews are taking months (or ending up at Tribunal) before participants finally get the help they should have received in the first place.
Bridgette is bravely sharing her familyβs experience, not for attention, but to protect other families who are going through the exact same thing behind closed doors.
This interview is about:
π£ Highlighting the real risks families face every day
π£ Calling for urgent improvements in NDIS safeguarding
π£ Making sure participants and carers finally have a voice
π£ Advocating for proper oversight, reporting, and accountability for providers and support workers
π£ Standing up for those who cannot advocate for themselves
NDIS participants deserve better.
Families deserve better.
Frontline workers deserve better.
And we wonβt stop speaking up until the system changes.
Thank you to WIN News for giving this issue the platform it deserves.
