Is it a cold or the flu? The symptoms often overlap but there is a difference.

You can now purchase a Rapid Antigen Test that can detect the flu with very good accuracy. It is combined with the COVID-19 and RSV test.

In either case, there are many medications that we can recommend to ease your symptoms. Just speak to one of our staff. If it's the flu, you can even request a prescription for an anti-viral from your doctor. The sooner you start it, the better.

And of course, there are things that you can do yourself to recover quicker. Stay at home, get plenty of rest and drink sufficient fluids. And don't forget to get your flu shot at the start of the flu season!

Mackie Pharmacy is now independent! We have left the Amcal family to forge our own path. They have been a good two years, but we feel we can better serve our community when we have more control over our operations.

But never fear, both ownership and management remains the same and we're as committed to helping our patients achieve better health as we have always been!

Please take note that you can no longer use your Amcal Club loyalty card at our pharmacy, but we will launch our own club very shortly. Everyone will receive a $5 reward on sign-up, on their birthday and will earn points on every non-prescription purchase.

As we look to the future, we hope to refine and expand our health services to better serve the needs of our community. Watch this space for more information.

⚠️ Recall - Brauer Baby & Child Teething Gel ⚠️

Brauer Natural Medicine is recalling several batches of its Baby & Child Teething Gel, 20 g, due to the potential for a small plastic fragment from the tube rim being present in the gel.

If present in the gel when applied to the infant’s gums, a small plastic fragment could cause discomfort or minor injury if not noticed by the parent/caregiver. In the worst-case scenario this may also pose a choking hazard.

Anyone who is concerned in any way about the use of these products should consult their health professional.

Check your product to see if is from the affected batches listed on our website. If it is do not use it and return it to the place of purchase for a refund.

No other batches or other Brauer Natural Medicine products are being recalled at this time.
