Is an information highway from the gut to the brain

The vagus nerve is a primary carrier of information describing the state of the body to the brain

transmitting information from the brain back to the body
It's a feedback mechanism which is responsible for maintaining homeostasis for many of our vital organs and brain/body functions.

MOST IMPORTANT

Your brain doesn't believe what the truth is

It believes what's familiar.
And what's familiar is what you repeatedly tell yourself

Your thoughts shape your
feelings and emotions

Your feelings drive your actions
And your actions shape your identity

This is how your brain wires who you think you are

THE GOOD NEWS IS

The brain is mouldable

But you can change yourself into a new way of thinking and feeling

Because when emotions stay stuck, your nervous system and body keeps the score

Our thoughts have frequency
Everything is energy
Just choose a high frequency thought for yourself

And most of our behaviour
Isn't conscious it's a deep ingrained habit of how we think and talk to ourselves

But change the input with intention
And you change the outcome
Simple just takes practice
And replacing negative self talk when it occurs to a positive dialogue ❤️

SLEEP STAGES

By understanding the science behind sleep you can then start to work on improving

Through this series I will address this and share what Hass worked for me and what has not

Sleep stages

The three main stages of sleep are:

1.Light Sleep (Stage 1)

The transition from wakefulness to sleep, lasting a few minutes.
It's easy to wake someone during this stage.

2. Deep Sleep (Stage 2)

A more restful stage where heart rate slows and body temperature drops. It's harder to wake someone, and this stage is important for physical recovery.

3. REM Sleep
Characterized by rapid eye movement and vivid dreaming.
This stage is crucial for memory consolidation and emotional processing.

These stages cycle throughout the night, contributing to overall sleep quality

SLEEP

Having spent years in working in improving my own health and well being ,I realised my sleep was off!
I would often wake feeling so tired and I refreshed
Dragging myself through the day and craving to jump back into bed
I started to research supliments etc to help
It was only when I educated myself about the science of sleep stages and what they do
I realised this was they key to feeling great and soothing my nervous system
I started to track my sleep and implement many diffrent techniques and supliments
As I am science based I could see the evidence and I will share with you in this series what I found to help
You see
How you feel when you wake
either refreshed or tired
depends not just on the quantity
of sleep you get
(the number of hours you are actually asleep) but the quality of sleep
In my experience and personal research it is better to focus on improving your sleep quality first through better understanding the sleep stages and the science of sleep

LETS START SIMPLE

3 little things

Speak kindly to your inner child
Before you get out of bed

1-Set a phone alarm for every two hours

2-Check back in on yourself ,offer comfort and encouragement

3-Whenever you catch yourself slipping into negative self talk
Pull yourself up straight away
Replace harsh judgement on yourself with love and kindness

Practice will create a difference
Self talk is so important

Remember your cells are always listening ❤️

CONSIOUSLY SLOWING DOWN
I have been slowing it down a while now
It's so liberating
I always had guilt and felt like I should be productive 24/7

WHY? My worth is not based on my productivity
My life is not a list of chores to be ticked off

Allow yourself to rest
Allow yourself to do what YOU want to do when you want to do it

Stop racing around causing your cortisol to be rushing around your body
You will feel the difference
Such peace and calm

STOP RUSHING

Inner peace starts with slowing your life down

Stop saying yes to everything

Prioritise your own peace

Slowing down settles the nervous system
Gets you out of fight or flight

I teach gentle breathwork to all my clients and encourage you all to honour your self

Get into the habit of saying no if its too much and feels stressful
It’s not offensive to say no
you don’t have to please everyone to the detriment of your own inner peace

Things can be done on a diffrent timeline
Slow down the breath ,say no ,it’s ok
Your future self will thank you 🙏
