We supported a young man in his 20s to transition from his existing bed to a Regia King Single Healthcare Bed.

It’s most of the time wondering if you’re doing the right thing.

Chris, our assistive technology specialist, shared a few photos from recent trials, and it reminded us why this part of our work matters so much.

You can’t really tell if something works just by standing still in a room.
It has to work at the shops. On public transport. At a café. On busy footpaths, with real life happening around you.

That’s why trials matter.

They’re not about rushing to a quick answer.
They give people time to try things properly, make small adjustments, and see what actually fits into their everyday life.

While we were helping a family set up for safer routines at home, a support coordinator shared something that really resonates with us.

They said the bathroom is often where confidence drops first.
Not because people can’t manage but because it starts to feel uncertain.

Their advice was very practical.
Focus on stability. Reduce slipping. Make personal care feel easier and less rushed.
