The first residents embraced SwanCare living (then known as Swan Cottage Homes) in 1961, shaping the future of the not-for-profit and registered charity, which has become one of Western Australia’s leading providers of quality retirement living and aged care. More than 1,000 residents call SwanCare’s Bentley Park home, residing in one of four aged care centres or in the vibrant retirement living community. The 15 hectare site is WA’s largest all-in-one retirement and aged care campus, including SwanCare at Home and services such as cafes, hairdressers, doctors, grocery store, and a leisure precinct with gym, pool, bowling green, and more. SwanCare also operates Australind Rise, a boutique retirement village situated by the Leschenault Inlet, only 1.5 hours south of Perth. The tight knit community enjoys social catch ups and quiet leisure facilities. SwanCare offers an engaging community and endeavours to enrich the lives of their residents. Our Waminda Classics Club residents had a delightful afternoon soaking up beautiful classical tunes, sipping on port or sherry, paired with some cheese and crackers! 🍷🧀

🎳 Well, look no further! The Bentley Park Bowling Club is welcoming new members who agree with their ethos of “rain, hail, storm or shine, the bowls must go on!”

“You’re always welcome to come down on a Monday or Saturday morning to try it out for free as a visitor. Our doors are always open,” invites Adrian. “Any residents who may like to bowl out of the weather are most welcome to join us.”

Exciting news! 🥂

We’re thrilled to mark the official ribbon cutting of the newly refurbished SwanCare Waminda!

This significant upgrade enhances both functionality and comfort, all while preserving the warm, home-like feel our residents know and love.

SwanCare Board Chair, Kim Hocking, shared, “This refurbishment is a significant achievement in SwanCare’s long-term vision for excellence in aged care. As one of the major projects in our master plan, it demonstrates how careful planning and sustained investment can deliver tangible outcomes for those we serve.”

It was our great honour to have Waminda resident Eileen, who recently celebrated her 100th birthday, cut the ribbon at the ceremony.

A big thank you to our project partners, MKDC Designers, Bridge42 and Dawn Projects for helping us bring this vision to life.

A heartfelt thank you to our residents, project partners, board members and Karen Vernon, Mayor of Victoria Park, for joining us to celebrate this important milestone!

👋 Meet Librato Maglaqui, our fantastic Registered Nurse who wears many hats!

Librato’s “why”? “Working at SwanCare has allowed me to connect with a variety of older people and make a meaningful impact on their lives. Seeing the smiles of residents and their families, along with the supportive work culture, makes this job rewarding. I’m fortunate to have a manager and team who encourage my growth and value my contributions.”

Cheers to another year! 🎂

Last week, we celebrated Keith S. from Kingia on his 80th birthday! He enjoyed two special celebrations - one with family and another with fellow Kingia residents! Keith had it all, from heartfelt cards and thoughtful gifts to wine and a cake that was almost too good to share. You deserve it, Keith!

Jaffles or toasties, what a fun dilemma! 🥪

Food experience sessions at SwanCare Ningana have become a favourite activity among our residents. On this occasion, residents enjoyed jaffles and toasties, and shared wonderful memories of how they used to prepare them. Lorena, our Social Engagement Assistant, even gave a live cooking demonstration for the residents, making the moment extra special.

What a delicious experience! Our Ningana residents are already looking forward to their next food experience session (and so are we). 😋
