Welcome our newest team members in Darwin!

After the resounding success of our Brisbane Induction, half of our Senior Management Team - Operations Manager Kenny and HR Manager Naomi (aka the Dream Team) - made a quick trip up to Darwin to deliver the Hands on Pathway Induction Training Day to our newest NT team members.

Recently redesigned to ensure we are equipping new team members with the essential skills, values, and tools to provide exceptional person-centred support, the program covers everything from medication management to safe work practices, cultural awareness, and effective communication, and is supported by a range of certified online training modules.

Many of our new team members are now supporting participants in our Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes across the region, bringing energy, compassion, and commitment to every home.

They leave our training not just prepared to meet the needs of each individual participant, but Qualified to be Exceptional!

Please join us in welcoming this dedicated group to the Hands On People community. We’re proud to have them on the HOP journey!

We currently have several vacancies in our wonderful SIL houses across the Darwin region, and immediate availability for in-home care and community access, so if you'd like to put our amazing team to the test, reach out now to experience the Hands On People difference!

NAIDOC Week 2025 - Celebrating Culture, Leadership and Community in Darwin

To mark NAIDOC Week, our Care Coordinator Tanisha had the privilege of attending a powerful leadership and career event hosted by .

The event featured three inspiring First Nations mentors who shared their personal journeys challenging stereotypes, leading with purpose, and staying grounded in culture and community. It was a moving and meaningful experience that left a lasting impression on everyone present.

Tanisha also participated in a traditional weaving workshop where she created her first bracelet, a tangible reminder of connection, learning, and cultural tradition.

This was a day of reflection, celebration, and shared learning to honour the strength, wisdom, and contributions of First Nations people.

At Hands On People, we’re proud to stand beside changemakers, and remain committed to culturally responsive, inclusive, and respectful care for First Nations people.

πŸŽ‰ Hands On People at Source Disability Expo by Source Co πŸŽ‰

Thank you ALL for stopping by at our booth last Friday and Saturday. It was wonderful to meet and connect with everyone, and to answer your burning questions about Hands On People and our services.

We were blown away by all the love from attendees, and we loved seeing so many of you join in the tower block game and entering our lucky draw. Stay tuned to hear if you're one of our lucky winners soon!

The surprise hero of the day was our red Hands On People piggy banks, which we think stole the entire show - who knew they would be a crowd favourite?!

We had an absolute blast sharing our person-centred and individual approach with you, and we would love to keep the conversation going. Follow us on socials or to discuss how we can support you, reach out:

🌟 Meet Lee, our new Branch Manager in Ipswich 🌟

With 8+ years in community services, from the Northern Territory to Brisbane, Lee has worn many hats, including Program Administrator, Financial Wellbeings Officer, and Service Manager. But it was when he took the role of Community Access Coordinator that he discovered his true passion for supporting people with diverse abilities. βœ¨πŸ’™

When asked what's the best part of the job, he answered: πŸ‘‰ β€œCelebrating the little wins, like helping someone make a cup of tea or tie their shoelaces. Every step forward is a victory.” 🫢

When not at work, you’ll find Lee spending quality time with family or getting his hands dirty on the family farm. 🚜🌾

Looking for a quality support and care in Ipswich and surrounding areas? Contact Lee or our friendly team at Hands On People. πŸ“§Lee.h@handsonpeople.com.au πŸ“ž08 7915 4555 🌐 https://handsonpeople.com.au/
