With flu season underway, the yearly flu vaccination is strongly recommended for everyone aged 6 months and over to help prevent serious illness and complications.

The National Immunisation Program provides free flu vaccines to people at higher risk of complications, including:

- children aged 6 months to under 5 years
- pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy
- people aged 65 and over
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 6 months and older
- people with certain medical conditions.
