As well as providing customer support I am looking to grow my team in Perth. I’ve been delivering Thermomix machines to homes for six out of the last eight years and I still feel excitement and happiness every single time.

Here’s a suggestion instead of Anzac biscuits for the weekend. Make a Golden syrup Anzac cheesecake from taste dot com.

I'm prepping for tomorrow night and I'm getting pretty hungry looking at the delicious food we are going to make!

I'll be hosting a FREE magazine launch at my house in Bibra Lake tomorrow (Friday) night at 7pm and it's not too late to register to come along.

If Friday doesn't work we've got Allison’s place in Alfred Cove on Saturday or Sandi's place in Attadale on Sunday.
All owners and non-owners are welcome. We will be making a couple of dishes directly from the magazine itself
I’ll pop the link to each of the events in the comments. I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone in person again!

Plum paste and fig paste!

We are big cheese platter people. Just after Christmas we realised that we were down to one slice of fig paste … and no other pastes 😳😳😳

This week I saw plums in the supermarket so I grabbed 1kg of them, then I went back because I realised that figs are right at the end of their season. Quince is not in season until April, but I have successfully restocked the paste containers!

1.2kg of plum paste and 600g of fig paste. Wrapping them in baking paper and putting them in an airtight container in the fridge gives them about a 12 month shelf life. At $6.30 for 100g of Maggie Beer’s paste I’ve saved myself a stack of cash again!

I used the plum paste Cookidoo recipe for both, but next time I’d go 5 minutes shorter on the fig paste. I’ll pop the recipe link in the comments

Food inspiration!
These photos are from a Turkish restaurant in Cypress on the 12th January last year. The food, decor and service was top notch!
I know that it’s easy to just keep making what you always do, but how about checking out new things in this new year?

Throwback to past accomplishments time!

Do yourself a favour whilst mangoes are still in season and make this luscious dessert. Mango Swiss roll from Cookidoo 🤤

It was a lot easier to make than I had imagined, rolling it was a breeze. I was quite pleased with myself at the time.

Another 35C day … another salad!

This one is another cracker … Jenny popped in for lunch today and I decided on Vietnamese style noodle salad from Cookidoo. I got fancy and added chicken to it, steamed the tenderloins, then shredded them for 4 seconds on reverse speed 4. I am not a fan of bean sprouts so left them out and I added fried shallots as an extra topping. Definitely going to add this recipe onto the rotation.

So we are in the weird zone of Christmas Day to New Year’s Day!

Here’s a bit of a rundown of what’s been happening around here:

We had our “Christmas Day dinner” on the 20th. As always we over catered! 😂🤷‍♀️. It was a lovely evening and I only got overwhelmed once-ish! I buggered up the paper instructions for the carrot and quinoa bake and it took three goes to cook the quinoa 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️…. Then I didn’t read/follow the steamed greens recipe and just winged the cooking time … and overcooked them a touch 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. Everything else was perfect 👌

On Christmas Day Anne Maree and I did a 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle 🧩.

I’m now starting the process of taking down Christmas. I’m one of those weird people who has to have everything packed away before New Years Eve so I can start the year fresh 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️. I don’t know, it’s just a thing I do.

How was your Christmas? All perfect? A few small disasters?

If you are going to eat it all in one go definitely mix it all together, but we decided to keep it separate so it’s not soggy for lunch tomorrow.
