A N G E R

Let's talk about it.....

Anger is a strong and often intense emotional response triggered by perceived threats, frustration or a sense of injustice. It is a normal and natural emotion experienced by humans, but its expression and management can vary widely from person to person.

Anger typically involves a combination of physiological responses (increased heart rate, muscle tension and adrenaline release) and psychological reactions (such as irritability, annoyance and rage).

Some causes of anger can be things such as;
- Percevied Threats
- Frustration
- Injustice
- Expectations vs Reality
- Personal Hurt or Offence
- Unmet Needs
- Chronic Stress
- History and Trauma
- Lack of Coping Skills
- Mental Health Issues

It is important to note that experiencing Anger is not inherently a negative thing. It can motivate people to address issues and make positive changes. However uncontrolled and chronic anger can have adverse effects on mental and physical health, relationships and your overall wellbeing.

Do you recognise the signs of anger building within yourself? And if so, HOW do you recognise this?

Following on from Su***de Prevention Day yesterday, Today is R U OK? Day, a reminder that a simple question can make a powerful difference. It's not about being an expert or having all the answers — it's about being there, listening, and showing someone you care.

We all face challenges at different times, and sometimes just knowing that someone notices and is willing to ask, "Are you OK?" can be a turning point. So, take a moment today to check in with a colleague, a friend, or even yourself.

And remember, it’s not just about today. Let’s keep the conversation going — because a connected world is a stronger and healthier world.

Ask with care, listen without judgment, and follow up.

Because every day is a good day to ask, R U OK?

Life gets heavy sometimes. We all carry things that no one else can see—stress, pain, grief, or just the overwhelming pressure of trying to hold it all together. That’s why it’s so important that we check in on each other—not just when things seem obviously bad, but all the time.

You don’t have to be a therapist to make a difference. You just have to care enough to ask:
“How are you really doing?”
“Is there anything you need?”
“Do you feel safe with your thoughts right now?”

And if someone opens up—just listen. Sometimes being heard can be life-saving.

If you’re struggling: please know you are not alone. There is help, there is hope, and there are people who care deeply about you—even if it doesn’t feel like it right now. Talking about mental health isn’t a sign of weakness. It’s a step toward healing.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, reach out. Call or text a su***de prevention hotline, speak to a trusted friend, or seek professional help. The hardest moments can pass—but only if you stay.

Let’s normalize checking in. Let’s build a culture where asking for help is strong, not shameful.
You matter. You’re needed. Please stay.

We are always learning. Every. Single. Day.

Learn from your mistakes.

By doing this, we know and do better.

Without this, we repeat the same patterns.

A great analogy...

The difference between a Disagreement and Disrespect.

It is ok to disagree with someone else's opinion, belief or values. We all have our own reason for doing or believing in the things we do, however we can disagree with Respect.

A disagreement is when you disagree with a person's thoughts. That's ok ✔️

Disrespect is when you lack respect for the person, personally. That's NOT ok ❌️

Respect is a positive feeling that recognises the worth of others. It is a feeling that we all desire ✨️
