Topstock Brand Rep Charlotte recently shared some helpful insights into the importance of understanding growth plates, especially for horses involved in high-impact sports like racing, rodeo, or polocrosse.

“Racing is a really high-impact sport… you don’t want to fault your horse if you want them to have the longest career and a sounder life in general,” Charlotte explains.

"Young horses grow from the back end first, often appearing bum high until their front catches up. That means extra pressure on their developing front joints, and too much strain too early can mean long-term consequences."

It’s simple: protecting young joints = longer, healthier careers. So when in doubt, give them the time they need to grow strong.
