With festivities starting on Friday, February 20, the date is a chance to toast to the incredible expertise, dedication, and compassion of nurses in the mental health space, the people transforming lives through knowledge, empathy, and advocacy, and making a difference every day.

Families, especially parents, can experience deep, long-term trauma due to a loved one’s substance use issues.⁠

In response, we created a free counselling service, Family, Carer & Friends Support Program (FCF). You can learn more about this offering from The Buttery via www.buttery.org.au, or reaching out to us direct via intake@buttery.org.au

Our Executive Director of Programs Frances Pidcock and Regional Manager of North Coast Anna Mavay recently presented at the Rural Mental Health Conference in Tasmania on the Safe Haven North Coast model of care, funded by Healthy North Coast and NSW Health. 
 
They shared why this model is critical during climate challenges in flood-prone areas, providing safe, accessible support when traditional services may be disrupted. 
 
Since opening in response to the 2022 floods, SHNC has supported nearly 19,000 people and delivered more than 18,500 hours of counselling. 💙

The Nimbin Neighbourhood & Information Centre (NNIC) is looking for a Clinical Care Navigator to join the Nimbin AOD Hub partnership, which is co‑located within the Nimbin Neighbourhood Centre. This role helps community members access alcohol and other drug (AOD), health, and social supports through coordinated, person‑centered care. ⁠

It’s a full‑time position based in Nimbin, employed and managed by Nimbin Neighbourhood & Information Centre (NNIC), and works as an integral part of the Buttery‑led Nimbin AOD Hub alongside partner services.⁠
