Established in 2011, Dovida (formerly Home Instead) provides high-quality, relationship-based home care for older people across the Sunshine Coast and Gympie regions, from the Glasshouse Mountains to Tin Can Bay. Proudly family-owned and operated, we support local families with flexible, personalised services that meet both personal and lifestyle needs. Our care includes companionship, domestic assistance, personal care, meal preparation, transport, dementia care, and palliative support. Services are available from two to 24 hours a day, tailored to individual needs. Dovida enables older people to live independently and safely in their own homes. We also help families navigate aged care reforms and access government funding, offering education and simplified guidance through a complex system. With Australia’s ageing population driving demand for home care, Dovida delivers person-centred support that empowers dignity, connection, and choice. We take a people-first approach; listening deeply, responding quickly, and building care around individuals, not checklists. Our Caregivers are compassionate, skilled, and supported through continuous training. Guest Speak is Dr Wendy Kinton PhD - End Of Life Care Program Coordinator

Join us for our Monthly Navigating Aged Care Free Information Session, a warm and supportive space designed to help individuals, families, and carers better understand the aged care journey.
This month we are delighted to welcome Guest Speaker Dr Wendy Kinton PhD, who will join us following the session to share valuable insights into Advance Care Planning and why these important conversations matter.
Dr Kinton will explore:

• What is considered end of life
• How to identify when someone may be approaching end of life
• What matters most to people at this stage of life
• What Advance Care Planning is and why it is so important
• Understanding the Queensland Advance Care Planning forms
• How staff and families can support clients to participate in these conversations
These sessions provide a safe, informative environment to ask questions, learn, and feel more confident navigating aged care decisions.
