It’s a special year this year as one of our own has joined the Air Force and will be participating in his first ANZAC Day ceremony.⁣

I had a little cry when I bought my pin this year , an Air Force hat just for him! So incredibly proud of the young man he is becoming. ⁣

Wishing you all a beautiful Christmas.
This year has had its ups and downs but I’m celebrating the fact that I have successfully put my son through school and he has got his license and has an apprenticeship ready to go! This parenting gig is a ride. Sending love to all the solo parents out there. Much love Kylie

As we head into spring, I thought I’d use this energy to reintroduce myself. The last couple of years has seen me become a little bit burnt out with the current birthing system here in Victoria.
I’ve needed some time to really be clear on my why and as a result I have made a few changes to the way I work.
It’s become really clear to me that Educating couples on how to have the birth experience they want is the key. So you will see me offering private and group classes to families in Melbourne. What does this mean for my Birth work? Well I’m going to take a little break. I’ve decided to only take on clients that I’ve worked with previously or from really strong referrals from my clients. I’m not sure for how long I will do this but I really need to step back to protect my energy.

Today is the International Day of the Midwife.⁣
A day to acknowledge the importance of the people that are in this profession and to highlight the importance of their collective and traditional wisdom in the birth space⁣

I’ve been thinking about the role of those incredible people we bring into our circle for support a little bit lately.⁣
Not just midwives and Doula’s, but those incredible people we instantly turn to when times are tough.⁣
⁣
Because even Doula’s need space holders right?⁣
⁣
Last night was a big night for me, my (big) baby was in a world of pain last night. I’ve never seen him like that before. I was so grateful for those in my inner circle that were there for me and let me be a worried Mum. Thankfully he will be fine.⁣
⁣
It just brought home for me the importance of having a circle around you. This can be a different circle depending on what’s going on too. ⁣
⁣
I’m going to be announcing a few adjustments to the way I continue to work, but I’ll just get through today first. ⁣
⁣
Be gentle with yourselves. Find your circle(s).⁣
Big shout out again to all the space holders out there and for those needing to be held, I see you and it will be ok.⁣
