Today I will explain why it is important to have this program.

Recently KHC shared a video from the World Health Organization that explained online bullying and in the video she said about 30% of children experienced bullying online and don't report or tell anyone. Why do you think children don't tell anyone? Are they scared? Do they have poor communication or relationships with their parents and teachers?

Deaf children experience 6 deaf barriers growing up so can you imagine what it would look like with bullying online? What the numbers would look like?

Hi I’m Natalie, one of the therapy assistants here at KHC. I have some exciting news to tell you all.

KHC has created a new program named Cyberbullying and Grooming program for secondary school students.
The program is designed for Years 7 to 12, with age-specific resources that support students to build awareness, confidence, and self-advocacy skills related to online safety, cyberbullying, grooming, talk about consent, and make boundaries.

What this means is that this program will help deaf and hard of hearing kids better understand what cyberbullying and grooming are and how it can be prevented.
This program will be run by Auslan fluent facilitators trained by Karli Health Centre
If you would like to know more, please contact Karli Health Centre for more details.

I will make a couple of videos and flyers explaining why it is important to know the signs on cyberbullying and grooming.

Karli Health Centre would like to share an important video from the World Health Organization regarding online bullying and cyberbullying: https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1FPQ1gFCBD/

The World Health Organization’s mission is to promote health, keep the world safe, and serve the vulnerable globally. At Karli Health Centre, we found this resource through a child safety channel and wanted to share it to reinforce our commitment to this cause. We take the safety of children and the prevention of online danger very seriously.
We hope you find this resource helpful and informative.

Hi all,
Here are two flyers that summed up last week's video.

Previously, Karli gave a presentation about the Deaf Heart Stories and Healing Project for ESMHD via video with captions and voiceover.
You can watch the link here:

ESMHD is considering changing its organization's title of their organisation to World Society Mental Health and Deaf People and ensuring all future presentations can be watched via Zoom in the future. Questions are welcome here.

This is the last video to share today [about counselling]. I am very proud of our work here at KHC. I observe and oversee all staff's work by looking at their quality of work, how they deliver by providing ongoing feedback. I also read and unpack clients' NDIS plan goals and write a treatment plan. Overall, it is valuable to find out everything about you and what goals you would like to achieve, so you can have a reasonably good life ahead of you. So in summary I am very proud that we still provide counselling that is accessible in Auslan for a long time and many more years in the future because we do understand how Deaf people feel due to their deprived childhoods.
Ok, goodbye.

I realise I have one more counselling video from last year which has not yet been posted here. But I will soon. The sign “Yoga” and the other sign “Meditation”. Are they the same or different ? The sign meditation is created from, you know, [the story about] the Buddha who sat down under a tree with hands “meditating” on his lap many years ago? It is possible that thousands of years ago, people worked on the farm so they were very active or they were serving people, they did not have computers to sit down to type or to write, maybe just a few people did, so they needed to sit down more to meditate.
But today we definitely need to move our [sedate] bodies more to help flow the energy within ourselves, from the head to our feet. So Yoga means physical activity that involves movement and breathing well. Everyone’s body is different, each person has their own [ayurvedic constitution] energy. That is why [people]studied yoga therapy to assess each body's make-up [and tailor a program suitable for each].
If you want to know more information, do reach out to us. Bye now.

Hi all, I hope you all enjoyed watching some of the four or five meditation videos which are for children. I made those videos through the Covid time when it was very quiet at home. Before they were closed to the public but now they are open for you to enjoy. They can be enjoyed by us, the adults, to watch as they are really beautiful meditative guides. When I read the short meditations in the book for children, I really enjoyed reading them, the beautiful meditations. I hope you have enjoyed watching them. I meditate [daily]; the signs “Yoga” and “Meditation”, are both signs different or same? I will make some videos to explain more. Have a good day. Bye.
