When you feel a strong emotion, perhaps take time to look inwards and consider what is at its core.

When beginning meditation, one of the biggest obstacles is understanding that you do not need a "clear and empty" mind....thoughts will come...and they will go.

Consider these passing thoughts as stress, rising to the surface to leave your body.....and as they go, they are creating space for calm.

Good Monday Morning.

I hope your week is off to a good start. Whether you are working from home, workplace, or having a week off (which I am as I pack to move house), dont forget to take a break during the day.

The Well-earned Break is a 15 minute meditation which helps you to reset and recharge.

Perhaps consider replacing your coffee break with a meditation break.

While initially this new meditation was written for children, perhaps it might appeal to the child in all of us.

As we continue to navigate our way through covid, I think we all deserve a bit of mind time with the clouds.

https://insighttimer.com/pub1029979/guided-meditations/watching-the-clouds

This meditation was written to assist children to be able to relax during the day. It includes instructions, to help the child to actually understand that focusing on something rather than everything can assist them to feel more relaxed. Think how you can bring mindfulness into your work day.

As a nurse, the simple act of taking a blood pressure, can become a mindful moment.

Notice the texture of the BP cuff as you wrap it around your patients arm, the sound of the inflation (if you are using an electronic monitor) or feel the movement of your hand as you pump the cuff, listen to the sound of the velcro, as you remove the cuff, notice the "rip" and listen to how the sound changes if you remove it quickly or slowly.

There are so many moments of mindfulness in that one simple task of taking a blood pressure.

Challenge yourself, see how many mindful moments you can bring into your own work day.

This looks to be a very interesting film if you are interested in Meditation and Mindfulness and how it may impact your health.

Journalist Shannon Harvey decided to study the effect of meditating daily on herself, conducting numerous before and after tests.

The movie will be available May 27th to June 3rd for free.

Overwhelmed with insomnia and an incurable autoimmune disease, Shannon Harvey needed to make a change. But while the award-winning health journalist found plenty of recommendations on diet, sleep and exercise, when she looked for the equivalent of a 30-minute workout for her mental wellbeing, there....

https://insighttimer.com/pub1029979/guided-meditations/the-sound-seeker-meditation

When we meditate, we need to focus on something, not everything. In this busy world we find ourselves in, it can be difficult to find a quiet place to meditate. So, instead of trying to block out the sounds, begin to use them as the point of focus. Learning to meditate with sound will enable you to....
