New GP Joining Blackbutt Medical Centre

We are pleased to welcome Dr Sanath Wijayasuriya to our team. Dr Sanath is a highly experienced GP with over 25 years working across internal medicine and general practice.

He has worked extensively in general medicine, cardiology, respiratory medicine and neurology, and completed a four year MD in Family Medicine. Most recently, he worked as a Consultant Family Physician while also maintaining over 20 years in private general practice.

Dr Sanath takes a holistic, patient centred approach to care, with a special interest in cardiovascular, respiratory, skin, hormonal and chronic health conditions.

Blackbutt Medical Centre welcomes Dr Fauzia Butt, commencing mid February 2026.

Dr Fauzia Butt is a dedicated General Practitioner offering personalised and comprehensive healthcare. She has extensive clinical expertise in General Practice and Internal medicine and has special interest in women’s/men’s health, family planning and obstetrics.

In her spare time, she loves to travel, with visits to Africa, Asia and Europe, is passionate about cooking, with keen interest in exploring diverse cuisines and experimenting with new recipes and is an Avid music enthusiast. She plays the Dhol (Indian Drum). All these areas demonstrate her love for creativity, collaboration and focus.
